Overview

The Account Executive is responsible for identifying, developing, capturing, and closing new business opportunities while fostering strong customer and partner relationships. The role includes leading capture efforts, developing winning proposals, and assembling high-performing teams of partner companies to deliver comprehensive solutions that meet customer requirements. The Account Executive serves as a strategic leader throughout the business development lifecycle, coordinating internal resources and external partners to maximize win probability and drive revenue growth.



Responsibilities

    Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities aligned with corporate growth objectives.
  • Develop and execute account growth strategies to expand market presence and increase revenue.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities through networking, prospecting, industry engagement, and customer outreach.
  • Lead business capture activities, including opportunity assessment, stakeholder mapping, win strategy development, competitive analysis, and solution positioning.
  • Conduct customer discovery meetings to understand requirements, pain points, and strategic objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with technical, functional and leadership teams to develop customer-focused solutions and winning strategies.
  • Lead or support proposal development efforts, including content creation, proposal planning, compliance reviews, solution narratives, executive summaries, and response coordination.
  • Manage proposal schedules, deliverables, and internal review processes to ensure timely, compliant, and compelling submissions.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, capability briefings, white papers, and business cases to prospective clients.
  • Manage the full sales and business development lifecycle from opportunity identification through contract award.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contractual agreements to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity, capture, and forecast information within CRM and pipeline management systems.
  • Monitor industry trends, customer priorities, procurement forecasts, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
  • Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, networking events, and customer engagements to support business growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop targeted campaigns and customer messaging.
  • Identify, recruit, and establish strategic partnerships with complementary companies to strengthen competitive positioning and expand solution offerings.
  • Lead the formation and management of teaming arrangements, subcontractor relationships, and strategic alliances in support of business pursuit and capture efforts.
  • Assemble and coordinate cross-functional teams of internal stakeholders, partners, and subject matter experts to develop compelling and differentiated customer solutions.
  • Evaluate potential partners based on capabilities, past performance, customer relationships, contract vehicles, and strategic fit.
  • Negotiate and execute teaming agreements, nondisclosure agreements (NDAs), memorandums of understanding (MOUs), and subcontractor commitments.
  • Facilitate collaboration among partner organizations throughout the capture and proposal lifecycle to ensure alignment of win strategies, solution development, pricing, and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain a network of industry partners to support future growth initiatives and strategic opportunities.
  • Lead partner engagement activities, including capability exchanges, strategic planning sessions, and pursuit reviews.
  • Coordinate with partners to identify new opportunities, develop joint value propositions, and expand market penetration.
  • Serve as the primary interface between the company and teaming partners during capture, proposal development, and post-award transition activities.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in identifying, capturing, and winning new business opportunities.
  • Experience supporting or leading proposal development and responding to competitive solicitations.
  • Strong understanding of business capture methodologies, pipeline management, and strategic account planning.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to develop persuasive proposal content and executive-level presentations.
  • Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and client engagement capabilities.
  • Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Government Contracting, Federal Sales, Defense, Technology, Professional Services, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of Federal procurement processes, RFP/RFQ/RFI responses, and contract vehicles.
  • Established customer and industry relationships within target markets.
  • Experience developing win themes, capture plans, and competitive assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing teams of partner organizations in support of large, complex business pursuits.
  • Experience negotiating and administering teaming agreements, subcontractor relationships, and strategic partnership arrangements.
  • Strong network of industry partners, technology providers, and service organizations within target markets.
  • Proven success leading multi-company capture and proposal efforts resulting in contract awards.
