Essential Functions

About the Role - The Business Strategy role serves as the strategic and operational partner to the Vice President, acting as a force multiplier for the entire AI organization. The position combines deep strategic analysis with hands-on operational management to translate the VP's vision into execution excellence. This individual not only provides the analytical rigor to guide long-term investments but also manages the rhythm of the business, leads special projects on behalf of the VP, and ensures alignment across the leadership team. They are a trusted advisor to the VP and a critical link between strategy, operations, and executive communication.

Operational Management (Chief of Staff Duties)

  • Manage the Rhythm of the Business:Own the agenda, materials, and follow-up actions for the VP's staff meetings, all-hands, and leadership offsites. 
  • Lead Strategic Planning:Drive the recurring strategic planning processes for the entire organization, ensuring alignment from the VP down to individual teams. 
  • Prepare Executive Briefings:Prepare the VP for key meetings by creating briefing documents, presentations, and data-driven talking points. 
  • Lead Special Projects:Spearhead confidential or high-priority initiatives directly on behalf of the VP  
  • Act as a Proxy and Communicator:Represent the VP in key meetings to ensure strategic alignment, and manage internal communications and messaging for the organization. 

Strategic Analysis

  • Build detailed financial models and business cases for the most critical strategic initiatives. 
  • Conduct analysis to inform the VP's long-term vision. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Trusted Advisor:Ability to act with discretion and serve as a sounding board and confidant for the VP. 
  • Strategic & Analytical Acumen:Strong quantitative skills, financial modeling expertise, and proficiency with strategic frameworks. 
  • Operational Excellence:Mastery of managing the "rhythm of the business," including leadership meetings, operational reviews, and strategic planning cycles. 
  • Executive Communication:World-class ability to synthesize complex information and create compelling narratives, presentations, and briefings for C-level and board-level audiences. 
  • Organizational Influence:A proven ability to lead and influence cross-functionally without direct authority, acting as a proxy for the VP when needed. 
  • Problem-Solving:Skill in leading high-priority special projects, navigating ambiguous challenges, and "firefighting" critical issues on behalf of the leadership team. 

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative business field or closely related technical specialized field of study.

Minimum Experience

Seven (7) years related work experience.

  • Work experience in functions focused on strategy development, competitive, customer, and industry analysis, market research, analysis of product performance, and support of corporate development/strategic value assessment activities.
  • Experience of supporting strategic assessments that are transformational in nature.
  • More advanced degrees may offset experience requirements. A related Master's Degree equals two (2) years experience.

Domicile Information

The preferred location for this hybrid position is Memphis, TN or Plano, TX (our corporate offices). However, we will consider candidates based elsewhere within the United States (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories).

Pay Ranges

Plano, TX - $8,896.99/mo - $15,124.88/mo

Memphis, TN - $8,452.14/mo - $14,368.63/mo
