Role: Pharmacy Assistant

Location: Fort Worth, TX, 76177

Duration: 6 Months

Schedule: M-F (occasionally T-S when they have to work the Saturday rotation) - Shift will be 9am- 6pm M-F. Shift on Saturday is 8-1. Their first week will be core training and this is held from 8am- 5pm, after that they would go to their regular shift.

Overview: Join a progressive organization as a Pharmacy Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in packaging and shipping medications and supplies while ensuring compliance with company policies and state regulations. This position offers opportunities for growth within a dynamic fulfillment team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare medications for shipment to ensure integrity, sterility, and stability of drugs and supplies
  • Follow designated checklists with attention to detail
  • Coordinate dissemination of information to patients via package inserts
  • Review shipping manifests daily to confirm delivery addresses and times
  • Work closely with the Pharmacy team to address order-related questions and escalate potential issues
  • Reconcile shipping supply packing slips with invoices and forward to the manager
  • Provide weekly shipping abstracts and usage reports to the supervisor
  • Restock pharmacy medication and supplies, and maintain cleanliness in the packing area
  • Lock and secure pharmacy and storage areas at the end of each business day
  • Handle discarding of trash and coordinate emptying times with contractors
  • Lift, move, and manipulate boxes weighing approximately 25 pounds


Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required
  • Fundamental knowledge of computers including MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to work as a team and collaborate effectively
  • Willingness to work morning and/or afternoon shifts
  • Flexible, multi-task-oriented worker
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours a day and perform physical work


Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in mail service or specialty pharmacy dispensing
  • Experience with inventory management
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure
  • Innovative and continuous improvement mindset
