Business Support Specialist VI Cherokee Federal is seeking a Business Support Specialist VI to provide essential administrative, travel, timekeeping, and financial support in Gainesville, Florida. This full-time, non-exempt position supports more than 100 scientists and management staff by keeping travel documentation, time-and-attendance records, office logistics, and charge card reconciliation accurate, timely, and compliant with federal requirements. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Business Support Specialist VI: $24 hourly Pay commensurate with experience. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice. Business Support Specialist VI Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with domestic travel authorizations, travel vouchers, and routing of required travel forms.
- Apply Federal Travel Regulations, federal travel policy, and applicable government travel systems and software.
- Support Center Administrative staff with office logistics, meeting coordination, and receptionist coverage.
- Assist with bi-weekly timekeeper functions, including validation of time and attendance entries, supporting documentation, reports, approval routing, and records filing.
- Review government bankcard and charge card statements for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure required receipts are attached to monthly charge card statements and transaction logs remain current.
- Enter expenditure adjustments and support account, budget, and financial reconciliation activities as assigned.
- Maintain organized administrative reports, shared spreadsheets, electronic records, and supporting documentation.
- Provide professional, responsive customer service to staff, visitors, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Follow client, department, and Center policies, procedures, and training requirements.
- Manage changing priorities and deadlines while maintaining accurate, timely work products.
- Perform other administrative and business support duties as assigned.
- Support periodic travel, when requested, approved, and funded under the task order.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Business Support Specialist VI Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of administrative, financial, accounting, bookkeeping, budget analysis, or related office support experience required.
- Federal administrative, travel, financial, accounting, or charge card experience preferred.
- Experience working in a federal environment and knowledge of DOI systems preferred.
- Strong typing, data-entry, records-management, and document-routing skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and shared spreadsheets.
- Familiarity with PC-based systems, email programs, internet browsers, and electronic forms/documentation.
- Ability to learn and use government travel, time-and-attendance, financial, and administrative systems; required system training will be provided.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately review receipts, statements, time records, forms, and financial documentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required USAccess credentials and complete federal background screening requirements.
- Valid driver's license as applicable to tasking.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
