While this position is eligible to work remotely if the successful candidate is located outside the Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR areas, the candidate must reside within 50 miles of a FedEx Freight location within the continental U.S.
If the successful candidate is located in the Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR areas, the candidate will be required to work a hybrid schedule, working three days per week in the office.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Responsible for leading delivery, operations, modernization, and continuous improvement for critical Finance technology capabilities supporting FedEx Freight. Help translate enterprise Finance technology strategy into executable road maps, reliable platforms, disciplined delivery plans, and measurable business outcomes. Key role in building Finance technology capabilities for FedEx Freight operating model, and needs while advancing long-term simplification, modernization, automation, governance, data quality, and operating model maturity.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the roadmap, delivery, operational reliability, and continuous improvement of assigned Finance technology platforms, applications, integrations, and data capabilities, including ERP, EPM, Treasury, Accounting, Tax, Procurement, reporting, and related systems.
  • Translate Finance and enterprise technology priorities into actionable delivery plans, release plans, backlog priorities, resource plans, and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead Finance technology modernization initiatives, including platform simplification, system migrations, integrations, automation, application rationalization, process enablement, and data quality improvements.
  • Manage end-to-end delivery for assigned programs and initiatives, including scope, schedule, dependencies, risks, issues, testing, deployment readiness, adoption, and transition to support.
  • Partner with Finance leaders and business stakeholders to understand business processes, control requirements, reporting needs, operational pain points, and future capability requirements.
  • Ensure Finance systems and related integrations are secure, resilient, scalable, supportable, auditable, and compliant with SOX, data, regulatory, security, and company control requirements.
  • Support Finance technology priorities, including capability, systems separation, operating model maturity, process redesign, data ownership, and transition from shared services to independent capabilities.
  • Establish and manage governance routines for assigned platforms and initiatives, including intake, prioritization, status reporting, risk management, performance metrics, operational reviews, and executive-ready communications.
  • Lead, coach, and develop technical team members, product owners, analysts, engineers, contractors, and delivery partners; build accountability, collaboration, and a high-performance culture within the team.
  • Manage vendor, systems integrator, and third-party partner delivery performance, ensuring accountability for quality, cost discipline, contractual commitments, risk management, and business outcomes.
  • Drive operational excellence for production Finance systems, including incident management, problem management, release coordination, monitoring, root-cause analysis, service performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with architecture, security, infrastructure, data, and enterprise platform teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards, integration patterns, security requirements, and long-term platform health.
  • Use data, KPIs, adoption metrics, delivery metrics, and business feedback to identify improvement opportunities, communicate progress, and support investment decisions.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through ambiguity and change, helping stakeholders evaluate tradeoffs across speed, cost, control, resiliency, compliance, user experience, and long-term scalability.
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Five (5) of progressive experience in enterprise application delivery, technology product ownership, application operations, systems integration, modernization, or technology transformation.
  • Experience supporting Finance, ERP, EPM, accounting, procurement, reporting, treasury, tax, compliance, or other enterprise business systems preferred.
  • Experience leading system migrations, integrations, modernization programs, cloud/platform transitions, or application rationalization efforts.
  • Experience working in complex enterprise environments with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, systems integrators, and control/compliance partners.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise application delivery, operational support, system integrations, data flows, controls, and technology lifecycle management.
  • Ability to translate business strategy and Finance capability needs into technology roadmaps, prioritized backlogs, delivery plans, and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of Finance processes, financial systems, reporting, operational controls, data quality, audit requirements, and enterprise technology dependencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex initiatives across business, technology, vendor, and compliance stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach teams, create accountability, manage priorities, develop talent, and build trust during transformation and change.
  • Ability to manage vendor performance, systems integrator delivery, statements of work, third-party dependencies, risks, and issue resolution.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and tradeoff management capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear executive-level updates, roadmap materials, risk summaries, and decision recommendations.
  • Ability to operate with urgency and discipline in ambiguous, evolving, or high-dependency environments.
  • Strong orientation toward operational excellence, service reliability, simplification, automation, data quality, and measurable business value.
  • Familiarity with freight, transportation, logistics, or other operationally intensive industries preferred.

Finance Transformation & Technology Modernization Leadership -Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale technology transformation programs involving multiple workstreams, legacy platform retirement, cloud and SaaS adoption, and enterprise-wide modernization initiatives while ensuring alignment with business strategy and operational objectives. Executive Stakeholder Management & Strategic Influence -Proven experience partnering with executive leadership to drive decision-making, manage competing priorities, negotiate cross-functional trade-offs, and develop compelling executive-level presentations, communications, and governance materials. Platform Standardization & Business Process Optimization -Expertise in leading business transformation efforts focused on process harmonization, technology platform standardization, and organizational change management, balancing business needs with enterprise architecture and operational efficiency goals. Product Adoption, Requirements Governance & Value Realization -Strong ability to evaluate delivered product functionality against business requirements, facilitate discussions around configuration versus customization, and guide stakeholders toward adoption of standard capabilities to maximize scalability, maintainability, and long-term business value.

Actual pay is determined by job-related factors permitted by law and relevant to the position, such as experience, tenure, market level, pay at the location for this job, performance, schedule, and work assignment. Pay Range: $103,880.00 - $181,790.00 per year

This compensation range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting pay range in NJ. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay is determined by experience relative to the job, market level, specific location and other job-related factors permitted by law. Regular full & part-time employees (who complete 91 days of employment and work a minimum average of 12 hours per week) are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, and/or vision coverage, tuition reimbursement. Full/part-time employees who are age 21 are eligible for 401(k) after one month of employment.
