Staff Accountant

An established multi-site organization is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month-end close process, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting and analysis. Experience with mid-to-large skilled nursing portfolios or public accounting clients in the long-term care industry is highly desirable.

Key responsibilities:

* Preparation of variance analysis on monthly financial statements

* Support month-end-close, including preparation of journal entries

* Preparation of bank and balance sheet reconciliations

* Assist in year-end process such as gathering data for cost reports and analysis of balance sheets for accuracy

* Review AP invoices to ensure payment and coding accuracy

The position maintains current knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations and requires strong working knowledge of the intricacies involved in CMS cost reporting processes in the skilled nursing industry.

Position Qualifications:

* BS in Finance or Accounting

* At least 3 years' experience in a similar role

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office

* At least 2 years' experience supporting mid-to-large, multi-state skilled nursing portfolios
