We are seeking a skilled and dependable operator to join our Spanaway, Washington team. This position plays a critical role in safely moving and loading building materials while supporting efficient yard and delivery operations. If you enjoy operating heavy equipment, working outdoors, and being part of a team that values safety and professionalism, we encourage you to apply.Position SummaryThe Boom/Crane Operator is responsible for operating boom and crane equipment to lift, move, and position heavy construction materials within the yard and onto delivery trucks. This role requires expertise in rigging, load calculations, equipment inspections, and safe operating practices to ensure materials are handled efficiently while protecting employees, equipment, and customer property.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate boom and crane equipment to load, unload, and move heavy construction materials safely and efficiently.Perform rigging, lift planning, hoisting, and load positioning activities.Conduct pre-operational inspections and routine equipment maintenance to ensure safe operation.Move materials to designated yard storage areas and assist with loading delivery trucks.Calculate equipment capacities, load weights, and required clearances before each lift.Ensure safe operation around buildings, utilities, power lines, vehicles, and other structures.Assist drivers with unloading materials at customer locations as needed.Maintain productivity standards while ensuring safe and accurate material handling.Identify and report equipment concerns, maintenance needs, and safety hazards.Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and operating guidelines.Attend required safety meetings and contribute recommendations that improve workplace safety and efficiency.QualificationsMinimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.Minimum of two (2) years of boom and/or crane operating experience.Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.Current Boom or Crane Operator Certification required.Strong understanding of rigging practices, load calculations, and lift planning.Ability to read and understand safety procedures, operating manuals, and load charts.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.Work Environment & Physical RequirementsWork is performed in a production, warehouse, and outdoor yard environment.Regular exposure to varying temperatures, weather conditions, dust, noise, moving machinery, and industrial equipment.Frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 100 pounds.Occasionally lift and carry, with assistance, up to 200 pounds.Ability to climb into and out of equipment cabs and maintain 360-degree visibility during operation.Must be capable of bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, standing, and operating controls for extended periods.Must be able to safely perform all physical requirements associated with boom and crane operation.Why Join Us?Home every nightCompetitive pay and comprehensive benefits packageStable, year-round employmentSafety-first workplace cultureOpportunities for professional growth and advancementTeam-oriented environment with a commitment to employee successIf you're a certified Boom/Crane Operator who takes pride in safe, efficient material handling and exceptional teamwork, apply today and take the next step in your career with us.
