POSITION SUMMARY

The Material Process Manager effectively manages and/or coordinates material requisitions, ordering and receipt, inventory control and material processing to support the needs of production in our structural steel fabrication division, Hillsdale Fabricators.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties include the following; however, other duties may be assigned.   • Supervises the safe and quality production of the material.
  • Coordinates with Production to ensure Processing supports the production needs and the project schedules.
  • Maintains understanding and optimization of the machines used in processing.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the parts being processed.
  • Claims parts and assemblies cut daily in designated tracking system.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and maintenance of inventory in FabTrol.
  • Assures compliance of incoming steel.
  • Tracks material cost per project.
  • Ensures inventory usage and production is recorded daily in FabTrol.
  • Maintains Certified Test Report files.
  • Ensures proper marking and storage of materials.
  • Reconciles inventory of steel products monthly/quarterly.
  • Responsible for scrap material management and tracking.
  • Participates in Project meetings, including, but not limited to kick-off meetings, closeout meetings and shop prep meetings.
  • Supervises machine operators and associated material handlers at machines.
  • Creates and maintains written training procedures and guidelines for each machine.
  • Travels to Company and subsidiary offices; offsite client, subcontractor, and supplier meetings; and other locations across North America to fulfill the essential duties of the role as required.
  • Exhibits regular and reliable attendance in person as required by the Supervisor, Company guidelines, and/or project and office obligations.


        Education and Experience

        Associate degree and 5-10 years of construction material experience with purchasing procedures and material values, or equivalent combination of education and experience. OSHA 30 required within 1 month of hiring.
