Job Description

Joining Ramboll

As our newMechanicalEngineer, you will be working across a wide range of mechanical design knowledge areas and have a desired focus areainHVACdesign ofchemical, power, and/or industrialfacilities. The candidate willwork alongside other experiencedand entry levelengineersin an environment where sharing knowledgeto developinnovativetechnicallysounddesigns is considered the key to success.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Performing design and engineering work in various areas of the mechanical discipline.The majority ofthe work will be related to heating,ventilationand Air Conditioning (HVAC); however, the candidate should also expect work in industrial piping, plumbing, central utility plants, compressed air systems, chilled water systems, steam systems, and fire protection.

  • Coordinating with other engineering disciplines to produce final construction drawings and details associated with mechanical engineering projects.

  • Developing conceptual designs and cost estimates for early stages of the project life cycle.

  • Creating design drawingsutilizingRevit 3D design software.

  • Conductingorparticipatingin investigative energy assessments toidentifyenergy and cost savings measures.

  • Assessing and designing building ventilation systems based on requirements for heat removal in industrial spaces andmaintainingindoor air quality.

  • Conducting spreadsheet analysis to assess the energy and cost savings of proposed energy conservation measures (ECMs)

  • Utilizing building modeling software todetermineenvelope heat gains/losses and assess savings potentials of ECMs.

  • Specifying mechanical equipment

  • Designing plumbing and building utility piping systems

  • Summarizing engineering results in written reports and/or presentations that are cohesive and of the highest quality.

  • Visiting job sitesasrequired for projects involving upfit of existing systems.A mix of day trips and overnight domestic trips should be expected.

  • Adhering to the policies and standardsset forth inthe Ramboll'sProject Execution Manual.

  • Promoting andmaintaininga safe working environment for all employees by adhering to Ramboll's Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of ScienceDegree in Mechanical Engineeringor greater.

  • Licensed Professional Engineera plus, but notrequired

  • 4+ years of experience in engineering and design of HVAC systems

  • Experience designinglarge scale hydronic systems

  • Working knowledge offire protectionrequirementsforindustrial facilities, includingthe IFC,NFPAstandardsand FM Global guidelines.

  • Desire to work in chemical, power, and industrial marketsegment.

  • Desire and ability to work at industrial facilities gathering data for designs (expect <10% travel).

  • Detail oriented individual.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability and desire to work in afasted-paced work environment.

  • Experience withAutodesk Revit is preferred

Salary Transparency

At Ramboll, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices that support our people and our purpose of creating sustainable societies. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $115,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation wereasonablyexpect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Because we operate across multiple U.S. markets, pay may differ depending on the cost of labor in specific locations. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime or other forms of compensation and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports well-being, professional development, and work-life balance.
