Midwest Veterinary Supply is seeking a Second Shift Warehouse Supervisor for our Fort Wayne, Indiana Location.

Job Summary:

The primary objective of this position is to provide the tools, directive and motivation to all positions within the replenishment department so that it functions at maximum efficiency and represent the Company as it relates to corporate policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Serve as a team leader for the replenishment department to encompass all duties performed.
  • This person will not only provide the tools and directive necessary to perform at maximum efficiency but also be available to perform any of those functions such as breaking down and preparing cardboard boxes for the recycling bin, pulling products, and filling the carousel.
  • Answer questions related to products, policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the resolution of problems that may arise related to carousel replenishment.
  • Help in the production area when needed.
  • Ensure all doors are locked, lights are turned off, and the security system is set before leaving.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Serves as a team leader to the 2nd shift replenishers. Reprimands for inappropriate performance may be at the discretion of the Supervisor, but formal disciplinary action is done in cooperation with the Branch Manager and Warehouse Manager.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required
  • Some team leader or supervisory experience is preferred
  • Forklift certified or ability to become forklift certified is required
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, employment policies, operating instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to work well with others and independently
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and problem solve
  • Strong attention to detail

Mental & Physical Demands:

  • Attention to detail critical to ensure accuracy and completion of objectives
  • Regular interaction with people, team-player
  • Fast pace of work, requires multi-tasking, etc
  • Vision: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Repetitive motion: reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, carrying
  • Regularly lift/move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 70 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders/stairs, balance, stand/walk on concrete floor for extended periods
  • Bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching
  • Ability to work long hours as needs arise

Equipment Used:

Windows based computer, RF Handheld Scanner, tape gun, safety knife, 2-way radio, safety equipment, markers, forklift.

Work Environment:

Work will be performed indoors in a temperature-controlled climate where moderate heat, cold or humidity may be experienced. Moderate exposure to dust and dirt may also be expected. Work will typically be performed Monday through Friday. Working more than 40 hours per workweek may be required. May require handling of products with cautious warning labels. This is a safety sensitive position.
