Our Business Development & Marketing team plays a critical role in enhancing the Firm's reputation, expanding its client base and driving revenue growth. This team develops and implements strategic marketing plans to promote the Firm's legal services, leveraging digital and traditional marketing channels to reach target audiences. They conduct market research to identify industry trends and client needs, positioning the Firm competitively within the legal marketplace. The team also manages client relationships, orchestrates business development initiatives, and seeks opportunities for partnerships and networking. Through compelling content creation, event planning and public relations efforts, they ensure that the Firm maintains a strong market presence and continues to attract and retain clients.

Position Summary

The Designer understands the big picture and has the ability to generate fresh ideas. This seasoned professional will take responsibility for deadlines, resources, internal requestors and implementing high standards, as well as collaborating with graphic designers, production teams, photographers, developers, illustrators, printers etc.

This individual is versed in multi-media, global marketing campaigns and must demonstrate seasoned art direction and leadership skills. They will have the ability to conceptualize and execute innovative ideas, as well as being able to articulate their vision to graphic designers and production staff. They will oversee each project through to implementation, all while staying on-brand.

The Designer will have deep knowledge of the Firm and Firm brand. They will be responsible for upholding global brand standards while creating effective and well-thought-out materials both as an individual and collectively with others. They will partner with writers, graphic designers and business development managers across multiple offices and a broad range of outputs including web, social media, video and print.

The Designer will be able to engage directly with requestors to take project briefings and update senior management of requirements. This is a hands-on role for a seasoned professional who must have the ability to design and communicate heavy content and data effectively through clean typography and innovative infographics, while collaborating in a team environment. The Designer must be able to understand the goals and challenges of the requestor to deliver an effective and successful outcome.

Responsibilities

The roles and responsibilities of this job include:

  • Lead, delegate and art direct complex regional and global projects and people across multiple teams.
  • Communicate with senior management to develop an aesthetic and brand that reflects the Firm's core values and ideals.
  • Lead micro-brand development as needed
  • Able to create compelling presentations to sell in new concepts at the Director and C-suite level.
  • Able to lead by example. Mentor and train graphic designers on the regional team to meet or exceed requestor expectations and to assist in growing the next generation of Senior Graphic Designers.
  • Embrace our digital-first approach by enhancing digital skills and mentoring others to do the same. Be the lead in developing, training and sharing best practices.
  • Act as primary requestor contact for all assigned projects throughout the entire project process, utilizing our digital project management system. Always be aware of project deadlines and keep senior management informed of any upcoming challenges that may affect meeting those deadlines.
  • Must have the ability and flexibility to design and art direct across all mediums (web, social media and print)
  • Be aware of current, and future, team resources and availability to enable effective progress and completion of projects.
  • Concept, design and develop new work and revise existing layouts according to internal requestor specifications while staying on brand.
  • Ability to solve an array of business and communications challenges through visual design.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of production skills and the ability to pre-press files, follow templates, specifications and all internal quality-control processes. This role requires managing their own workload and print production, including building timelines, specifying stock, finishes and attending onsite press checks.
  • Act as brand advocate with the ability to uphold visual brand and style guidelines as well as assisting with developing new global guidelines.
  • Superb attention to detail while handling multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate versatility to design in multiple styles ranging from simply sophisticated to cutting-edge visual storytelling. Must stay on top of emerging technologies and trends.

Education/Qualifications/Professional skills and attributes

  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design preferred.
  • 10-12 years of professional graphic design experience.
  • Expert knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe XD.
  • Expertise in PowerPoint, Keynote, After Effects, Premier and HTML are a plus.
  • Professional demeanor with high degree of comfort speaking with internal requestors.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing high-end print and digital design skills.
  • A clean design aesthetic to complement the White & Case brand.
  • Ability to be flexible with time to meet requestor needs and deadlines.
  • A corporate or agency background.
  • Legal or financial industry knowledge and experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer service attitude.
  • Manage time effectively, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented individual who reviews his/her work carefully; quality control is key.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.

Salary Range

$95,200 - $130,900
