We are seeking a Sales Floor Supervisor who is passionate about people, retail excellence, and making a meaningful difference through their work. As the Sales Floor Supervisor, you will provide daily leadership for sales floor operations, support staff and volunteers, and help create an exceptional shopping experience for every customer. Position Details Position Type: Full-time, non-exempt Store Hours: Monday-Saturday, 9:00am-6:00pm; occasional evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as required Pay Range: $19.00/hour What You'll Do
- Lead and oversee daily sales floor operations to ensure an efficient, organized, and customer-focused environment
- Recruit, train, schedule, and develop sales floor team members and volunteers
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and accountability to maintain high standards of service and productivity
- Supervise checkout operations, ensuring accurate cash handling, register compliance, and a clean, welcoming front-end area
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized sales floor, including oversight of common areas, restrooms, and store entryways
- Execute merchandising plans that create visually appealing displays and support seasonal and promotional initiatives
- Monitor inventory flow and product rotation, ensuring merchandise is well-stocked, properly presented, and processed according to guidelines
- Partner with store leadership to achieve sales, productivity, and operational goals
- Coordinate volunteer and community service worker activities, including training, assignments, and supervision
- Ensure outstanding customer service by addressing customer questions, concerns, and feedback professionally
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash reconciliation, and store security
- Promote safety, loss prevention, and compliance with organizational policies and procedures
- Communicate expectations, updates, and operational priorities clearly to team members and volunteers
- Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum two (2) years of retail, customer service, or thrift store experience required
- Experience with cash handling and point of sale systems
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Previous supervisory, lead, or management experience in a retail environment preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, develop, and supervise employees and volunteers
- Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship-building activities
- Knowledge of retail operations, including merchandising, inventory management, cash handling, and retail systems
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail
- Dependable, professional, and results-oriented, with a commitment to the mission, values, and standards of The Salvation Army
Physical & Working Conditions
- Standing and walking for extended periods throughout the workday
- Lifting and moving merchandise and fixtures weighing up to 50lbs, with assistance as needed
- Frequent bending, reaching, stopping, pushing, and pulling
- Working in a dynamic retail environment with continuous interaction with customers, staff, and volunteers
