Position Title: Associate, Planning and Analytics

Position Classification: Regular; Exempt; Full-Time; 40 Hours/Week

Reports To: Associate Director of Planning and Analytics

Location: Employees in this role can work from our Boston, MA office, remotely within the U.S. or a hybrid of these two options. Ability to travel internationally to PIH sites annually is preferred

Position Overview:

The International Operations (IOps) team works in pragmatic solidarity with care delivery and university sites to ensure the reliable availability of the medications, supplies, equipment, dignified facilities, and operations systems required to deliver quality health care to those most in need. This scope of work includes international order management and administration, sourcing new items and identifying best pricing, overseeing US-based warehousing, managing international shipping and documentation, coordinating the customization and implementation of Partners In Health's (PIH) supply chain management software, designing reports, providing support for biomedical and facilities teams, and providing technical support.

The Associate is responsible for developing actionable, accurate reports that the team can use to measure performance and communicate results. They will also monitor data quality, help develop tools for faster and more accurate data entry, and serve as IOps representative for data projects with other cross-site teams. The Associate must be detail oriented, organized, and proactive, with a passion and commitment for systems improvements, thinking creatively about data analytics, and serving PIH's patients around the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis and Reporting (50%)
    • Create, improve, and update reports to automate and visualize supply chain and logistics work, acting on level of urgency for operational impact
    • Support forecasting for cross-site bulk order process
    • Implement and monitor supply chain key performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement
    • Proactively explore and execute on opportunities to increase efficiency through new reports, data analysis, or systems features
    • Perform ad hoc data analyses as needed
  • Data Management (30%)
    • Coordinate data management and cleaning projects for cross-site IOps team
    • Serve as IOps team point person for projects related to data warehousing and integration of IOps data with other PIH teams' data (Electronic Medical Records, Finance, HR, etc.)
    • Develop indicators to monitor data cleanliness as well as systems to use and improve related data
    • Identify data issues and follow up with country teams to improve data collection
  • Documentation and Training (20%)
    • Create organized and accessible repository for reports and recorded trainings
    • Monitor reports for user uptake and target improvements and trainings based on findings
    • Regularly solicit feedback from users across all locations to improve reporting
    • Conduct trainings on reports for users across all PIH sites, ensuring accessibility to diverse user base

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or operations analysis; relevant advanced degrees may be considered toward this experience requirement.
  • Demonstrated mastery of business intelligence software like Tableau or MS Power BI
  • Advanced Microsoft (MS) Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated success solving problems creatively in order to meet organizational goals and objectives
  • Ability to work well with a diverse team, honoring the concerns and priorities of staff in care delivery sites
  • High attention to detail and ability to respond to changing priorities
  • Strong communication skills, including using data as a communications tool

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated interest in global health and humanitarian supply chain
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems or Logistics Management Information Systems (LMIS) or proven ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Experience providing trainings and user support for software
  • Experience working/living in a developing country
  • Proficiency in Haitian Kreyol or French
  • Interest and ability to travel to PIH sites 1-2x/year

The starting salary range for new hires in this position is between $70,040 - $74,160/year and may vary depending on multiple, individualized factors including functional experience and job-related experience.
