SCOPE:

The Material Handler is an integralcomponentof our production team,relocatingand organizing materials for production. This includes monitoring material needs, organizing, picking, and delivering materials,monitoringinventory levels, and submitting order requests.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor the material needs of various production areas through visual inspection, oral instructions, or work orders, pick materials from storage, and deliver items to theappropriate machinesor production areas, usingfork lifts, cranes, sit-down tow motors, and stand-up tow motors.

  • Track inventory movements by scanning labels, including packing slips, and entering item information intoMRP.

  • Load and unload freight and materials to or from loading docks or delivery vehicles, usingfork lifts, sit-down tow motors, and stand-up tow motors.

  • Check delivery quantities, sort materials, and store items according to the department's storage system.

  • Attachidentifyingtags to containers or mark them with identifying information.

  • Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected and organized.

  • Check forklifts and other machinery for full charge and proper functioning.

  • Construct boxes, usingstaplegun.

  • Load bar stock

  • Dumping chips or scraps, usingforkliftor by hand.

QUALIFICATION/EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Integrity - Reliability,Responsibilityand Accountability.

  • Ability to perform work in a safe manner, including operating heavy machinery

  • Ability tolift upto 40 pounds and perform repeated physical tasks

  • Ability to stand forlong periodsof time (up to 8 hours)

  • Prior experience in operatingfork lifts, sit-down tow motors, and stand-up tow motors

  • Skill in communication, coordination, andlogistics

  • Skill inoperatinga computer

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of basic math, algebra, fractions, measures, and weights.

  • Must be a team player withstrong communicationskills.

  • Prior experience as a Materials Handlerrequired.
