Scope: The Director of Operations for the Stafford division is responsible for leading and executing manufacturing operations within a defined site segment to deliver products in the most cost-efficient manner while adhering to safety, quality, and environmental standards. This role leads continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency and effectiveness through cross-functional collaboration. Works closely with Process Engineering and Equipment Maintenance to ensure manufacturing processes are stable, in statistical control, and meeting specification. Partners with Finance and Production Control Management to support business goals and customer expectations for quality and delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Contributes to the development of operational goals and translates them into clear execution plans, objectives, and metrics for the operations team.
• Develop and manage operational budgets based on the company's short and long-range business objectives, including sales forecasts, inventory requirements, and related factors. Stays current with relevant manufacturing trends.
• Provide direction and leadership to direct reports, ensuring their responsibilities for attaining objectives and maintaining satisfactory performance are met consistent with established policies and programs.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of assigned functions, operations, and programs to ensure established objectives are met in accordance with approved product specifications, quality standards, budgets, and timeframes. Take prompt corrective action when necessary to bring operational performance in line with plans and governing standards.
• Execute continuous improvement initiatives including determination of goals and selection and completion of projects.
• Develop and maintain detailed plans to achieve group goals, including: operating budgets, first-pass yields, throughput, inventory, rework, scrap, on-time delivery, employee safety, product quality, and customer satisfaction goals. Monitor applied labor, bills of material, shop supplies, scrap, rework, and yield for each product against established standards. Ensure metrics are in place to monitor performance and take appropriate corrective actions as required.
• Maintain effective communications and working relationships with other company functions required to support the operation.
• Provide operational input and production resources to support engineering and business proposals as needed.
• Build and maintain an effective operations organization through selection, training, development, and motivation of assigned personnel. Recommends organizational structures and staffing requirements in support of business objectives.
• Responsible for facility security and compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
• Comply with and actively support approved affirmative action programs and equal employment opportunity policies.

• May handle hazardous waste as outlined in departmental work instructions. The following RCRA training is required on initial hire and annually thereafter: Introduction to RCRA, Properties of Facility Waste, Waste Minimization Accumulation, Container Management, and Emergency Response Plan.

Experience with Lean and Six Sigma programs and a passion for visual factory management techniques.
• Ability to define, acquire, process, present, and interpret data and information necessary to monitor all aspects of the manufacturing process important to executing the production plan.
• Sound business acumen and decision-making skill. Able to balance risk, operational impact, and short- and long-term needs to resolve complex manufacturing challenges.
• Proactively identifies execution risks and applies risk management tools and techniques to mitigate them.
• Ability to relate key operational performance parameters to cost and budget performance.
• Working understanding of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, including 5+ years in a senior operations management role with direct responsibility for production throughput, quality goals, and cost management.
• Experience working with complex and/or engineered product lines.
• Significant experience defining and utilizing manufacturing systems, data, and metrics to plan and execute production plans.

Additional Duties

• Collaborates with senior management to support strategic planning and contribute operational insights to broader organizational objectives.
• Makes operational decisions within a defined manufacturing segment; escalates administrative and cross-functional matters to senior leadership as appropriate.
• Accountable for operational performance outcomes; decisions directly impact site efficiency, quality, and delivery performance.
• Applies in-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations and data to analyze complex situations and drive effective solutions.
• Participates in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for operations programs and initiatives.
• Ensures operational budgets and schedules meet established requirements.
• Manages a team of department managers and supervisors within the operations function.
• Has control of planning, staffing, and budget management within the operations scope; recommends and implements process and method improvements.
• Reports to the Senior Director of Operations or Vice President of Operations.

Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.
