What to Expect
We're looking for an experienced Industrial Engineer to join Tesla's team that specializes in advanced automation for supply chains. The job focuses onCAPEXand Automation strategies, develop process flows. Your job will be impactful as your assessment will be crucial for Tesla to decide our supply base of next gen products, whether that is AI, Battery/Power Electronics or other innovative product. Candidates who are familiar with standard TLA processes, Dispensing material, time/motion study, general idea of historical TLAcapexcost is a plus. Strong sense of ownership and responsibility is needed.

What You'll Do
  • Desing assembly process based on the product design
  • Analyze cycle time, labor count, floor space requirement, and process parameters to optimize the process efficiencies
  • Conduct Design for Assembly analysis to ensure product requirement is captured in the process
  • Owning internal Capex analysis with support from Supply Chain managers and the outcome of the decision
  • Leading cross-functional team from Supplier industrialization Engineer, Supply Chain Manager and Finance to drive cost efficiencies
  • Driving High-quality decision support through, primarily but not limited to, Excel analysis, discrete event simulation, and other operations research methods. Develop Process simulations (simio, flexsim, etc) at RFQ phase to predict throughput and pull ahead
  • Support CAPEX activities: manage project scope, schedule and budget. Evaluate and justify capital equipment investments. Implement and monitor approved budgets for projects. Analyze and justify any deviations from budgets
  • Lead suppliers and oversee capital improvement projects for plant equipment and machinery. Set standards and policies for processes, machine control, installation, modification, testing, operation, inspection and maintenance
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex engineering and manufacturing problems using advanced manufacturing processes and new technology

What You'll Bring
  • Master's Degree in industrial, Manufacturing, or Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Skills in DFM, DFA, DFSS, Tolerance analysis, and Monte Carlo simulation
  • Proficiency in statistical tools (JMP/Minitab) and 3D CAD (CATIA preferred)
  • Knowledge in APQP, DMAIC, and Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt certification)
  • Familiarity with Project management software like ThinkCell and MS Project
  • Experience with Industrial 4.0 technologies and low-volume, high-mix manufacturing and Understands OEE, capacity planning, and line balancing
  • Proficient in Data Analysis, Process Control Methods (Statistical Process Control, Cpk) and factory layout planning. Strong communication, GD&T knowledge, and leadership skills
  • Ability to travel 25 - 30% of the time, sometimes on short notice
  • Experience in simulation software like Flexsim or Simio

    Expected Compensation
    $112,000 - $204,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
