Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager for our Pittsburgh, PA operations. This is a critical, hands-on role responsible for supporting field operations through effective management of equipment and materials. This individual will develop a strong understanding of daily field workflows, tools, and operational demands to keep field teams consistently equipped, supported, and positioned for success.

This role has primary responsibility for overseeing operations at our dedicated warehouse facility, maintaining organization, efficiency, and overall operational readiness to support field teams. Serving as a trusted and dependable resource, this individual acts as a central point of coordination for field needs - proactively addressing challenges, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining readiness of equipment while making sound, business-minded decisions that support the company's long-term operational needs and financial health.

Essential Responsibilities

    Develop a deep working knowledge of field practices, equipment, and project requirements
  • Serve as a reliable, go-to resource for field staff, providing timely support and practical solutions
  • Anticipate field needs and provide crews with the right tools, materials, and equipment
  • Apply strong mechanical aptitude to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with tools, equipment, and vehicles
  • Respond quickly to field challenges to minimize downtime and maintain productivity
  • Maintain and service field equipment to maintain reliability and extend longevity
  • Coordinate specialized repairs with external vendors when required
  • Negotiate with vendors
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with field personnel
  • Independently oversee day-to-day operations at our dedicated warehouse facility
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness
  • Keep materials and equipment properly stored, labeled, and accessible






Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in warehouse operations, field support, or a related role
  • Ability to work independently and respond quickly to operational needs
  • Effective communication skills with a service-oriented mindset
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with tools and equipment
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Forklift experience and certification preferred
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • High school diploma or equivalent
