UNC Health Rex in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Urologist with fellowship training or a strong clinical interest in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) to join our growing urology team.

This position offers the opportunity to maintain a broad general urology practice while developing a specialized focus in women's pelvic health and reconstructive urology. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive urologic care to both male and female patients while helping expand access to advanced treatment options for female pelvic floor disorders.

Responsibilities

  • The physician will provide comprehensive general urology services, including:
  • Evaluation and treatment of kidney stones, voiding dysfunction, hematuria, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and other common urologic conditions
  • Outpatient consultations, diagnostic testing, cystoscopic procedures, and medical management of urologic diseases
  • Performance of general urologic procedures and surgical interventions
  • Participation in call coverage and management of urgent and emergent urologic conditions

In addition, the physician will develop a specialized pelvic health practice focused on:

  • Female urinary incontinence, including stress and urge incontinence
  • Overactive bladder (OAB) and voiding dysfunction
  • Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and related pelvic floor disorders
  • Female pelvic reconstructive surgery and minimally invasive treatment options
  • Complex pelvic floor conditions impacting quality of life

The successful candidate will perform and interpret specialized diagnostic studies, including:

  • Urodynamic testing
  • Office-based cystoscopy procedures
  • Pessary fitting and management

The physician will also have the opportunity to perform advanced reconstructive procedures utilizing vaginal, laparoscopic, and robotic approaches, including:

  • Mid-urethral sling procedures
  • Sacral colpopexy
  • Cystocele and pelvic organ prolapse repairs
  • Additional female pelvic reconstructive procedures

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Urology residency program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology
  • Fellowship training in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS/Urogynecology) preferred
  • Eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina
