Position Overview

The Process Engineer plays a key role in improving plant performance across safety, quality, reliability, cost, and overall operational excellence. In this role, you will partner with department leaders and crossfunctional teams to identify improvement opportunities, resolve operational challenges, and drive sustainable results through datadriven analysis. You will support standardization efforts, lead or contribute to improvement projects, and ensure compliance with all safety and quality expectations.



Responsibilities


  • Safety & Compliance Support - Work closely with supervisors and managers to strengthen safety practices, environmental compliance, product quality, and operational consistency across corrugator, converting, and maintenance areas.



  • Data Analysis - Gather, interpret, and validate operational data through system reporting and onfloor observation to uncover performance gaps and improvement opportunities.



  • Continuous Improvement Leadership - Lead or support divisionwide CI initiatives and new process development projects that enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve reliability.



  • Troubleshooting Support - Provide handson assistance to all departments to minimize downtime, resolve process issues, and optimize equipment performance.



  • CrossFunctional Collaboration - Partner with teams across the plant to address safety, quality, productivity, and cultural concerns, gather feedback, and drive meaningful improvements.





Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.



  • 1-2 years of experience in the paper industry or process engineering preferred (Coop and internship experience in the paper industry will be considered).



  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver clear, consistent messaging across all levels of the organization.



  • Demonstrated ability in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.



  • Proven troubleshooting and problemsolving capabilities.



  • A collaborative teamoriented mindset with the ability to meet objectives and timelines.



  • Flexibility to work varying hours as needed.
