Covia is looking for a dynamic Heavy Equipment Operator who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Cleburne, TX location.

The successful candidate will have the following Key Accountabilities:



  • Operate heavy equipment such as frontend loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and dozers to move sand, overburden, and aggregate.
  • Comply with applicable MSHA Regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and procedures applying to the worker or person that are part of a safety and health management system for the site.
  • Comply with provided instructions for safety and health of supervision at the site.
  • Adhere to site procedures and instructions given by management.
  • Load material into hoppers, trucks, and conveyors while maintaining proper feed rates.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report mechanical issues promptly.
  • Maintain clean, organized stockpiles and safe roadways throughout the plant.
  • Assist with routine plant maintenance, cleanup, and other labor tasks as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and site traffic rules.
  • Communicate with plant operators, supervisors, and team members to support smooth production flow.
  • Work in outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, and uneven terrain.


The successful candidate will have the following Minimum Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience within mining operations (preferably sand).
  • Prior exposure to an understanding of operational equipment in sand.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment adequately with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety with previous experience in identifying and managing risks.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing within a team of professionals to deliver set targets.
