As the Process Engineer, you will provide engineering support to production processes within the plant. Your responsibility takes on many forms and requires interaction with many different departments including technical, maintenance, planning, QA, RM procurement, and IT. You will work with the operators and supervisors in each building to help define projects that improve the process from safety, ergonomic, quality, and productivity standpoint.

You will report to the Sr. Plant Manager, and will base you onsite at the facility in Little Rock, AR. PPG offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k + retirement savings; Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and proliferate manufacturing best-practices within network
  • Be the troubleshooting resource for non-standard performance in manufacturing
  • Stay informed of latest technology and process developments in the industry
  • Evaluate processes and lead improvements
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop new process designs and conduct developmental process trials
  • Participate in projects within boundaries of subject matter expertise
  • Collaborate with site teams to identify improvements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Chemical / Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing operations, capital project execution, process development
  • Experience in Batch and Continuous operations preferred
  • Experience with structured improvement methods (6-sigma/Lean, PHA, PFMEA, PDR)
  • Experience with manufacturing standards (ISO, PSM, NFPA)
  • Experience density media milling for coatings preferred
  • General background knowledge of paint and resin chemistry and processing
