JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities
Quality Systems & Compliance
* Ensure compliance with BOS, ISO/TS 16949, IATF requirements, and customespecificstandards. * Understand plant and customer KPIs and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meetor exceed targets. * Participate in Layered Process Audits (LPA) as required
Continuous Improvement
* Drive continuous improvement across all production quality deliverables * Support advancement of Operation Description Sheets (ODS) * Identify and apply appropriate statistical tools; mentor team members on their proper use.
Advanced Quality Planning & Documentation
* Support PPAP preparation and submission * Obtain internal approvals prior to customer submission * Develop and maintain:
- Control Plans
- PFMEA (with Manufacturing Engineering support)
- Inspection and containment plans
* Complete all customer-specific Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) requirements.
Customer Interface & Issue Resolution
* Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers regarding quality concerns * Communicate effectively between customers and plant operations * Visit customer sites as needed * Initiate and manage Quality Alerts through closure * Analyze returned materials and ensure root cause identification and corrective actionimplementation.
Problem Solving & Corrective Actions
* Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes * Prepare and submit 8D reports to customers in a timely manner * Conduct capability studies and ensure compliance with customer and internal requirements
Supplier & Quality Documentation
* Ensure proper preparation and submission of required documentation, including:
- Part Submission Warrant (PSW)
- Design records (drawings, specifications, materials)
- Process flow diagrams
- PFMEA
- Control plans
- Dimensional results and sample submissions
Systems & Tools
* Utilize customer-specific systems and reporting tools * Maintain accurate records and documentation for quality processes
Qualifications
Education
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Experience
* Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering or related role* At least 2 years of automotive industry experience required* Seating experience is a strong plus
Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of:
- ISO/TS 16949 / IATF standards
- PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans
- 8D problem-solving methodology
- Continuous improvement methodologies
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills* Ability to work cross-functionally and manage customer relationships
Certifications (Preferred)* Lean Certification* Problem-Solving Certification* Kaizen Certification
