DESCRIPTION OF WORK

You will play a central role in maintaining safety standards, inspecting facilities, and supporting compliance efforts throughout SCI-Dallas. Your work will involve planning, monitoring, training, and documenting activities that strengthen the institution's safety and environmental programs. As a Facility Safety Manager, you will perform the following duties:
- Safety Inspections: Complete required weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual safety reviews and prepare related reports
- Fire Drill Coordination: Plan quarterly fire drills, maintain schedules, and document results to meet accreditation standards
- Sanitation Oversight: Coordinate institution-wide sanitation and pest control programs to maintain proper conditions
- Record Management: Maintain logs, inspection results, fire equipment records, and required documentation
- Right-To-Know Duties: Manage chemical safety information, inventories, labeling, and notifications
- Training Support: Conduct safety and emergency training for staff and inmate workers and maintain training records

- Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,345 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of professional experience in an organized accident prevention, fire prevention, environmental safety, or security program, and a bachelor's degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires that an employee obtain Advanced Safety Certification from the National Safety Council within five years.
- This position requires that an employee obtain and maintain a Radiological Safety Officer Certification upon hire.
- This position requires that an employee obtain and maintain a Lead Renovator Certification upon hire.
- This position requires that an employee obtain and maintain an Asbestos Supervisor and Building Inspector Certification upon hire.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be a Trained Firefighter
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
