As a Clerical Assistant 3 with the Department of Transportation (PennDOT), you play a key part in keeping Pennsylvania's vehicle records correct and up to date. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Clerical Assistant 3 role supports the accuracy of vehicle records and helps meet the needs of customers and PennDOT staff. The position involves research, communication, and detailed record work across many types of requests. As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will perform the following duties:

  • Record Research: Review inquiries and documentation to determine the accuracy of vehicle title and registration records
  • Data Updates: Enter, correct, and create records in a database system based on verified information
  • Customer Response Work: Review electronic messages and calls to resolve discrepancies and provide needed information
  • Priority Processing: Review high priority requests and prepare accurate responses or corrections for leadership and customers
  • Special Handling Tasks: Examine unique cases such as impoundments, dead tags, duplicate VIN issues, and requests for secure documentation
  • Phone Support: Answer questions from the public and internal partners about vehicle titles, registration, and related programs

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
