Adult Residential Support Professional

Location: Waukesha County, WI
Schedule: Part-Time | 3rd Shift | Friday-Sunday | 11:00 PM-7:00 AM
Pay: Starting at $17.75/hour

Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan (LSS) is seeking a compassionate and dependable Adult Residential Support Professional to join our team at Aspen Center, a residential treatment facility serving adult men in recovery from substance use disorders.

At Aspen Center, we provide affordable, comprehensive addiction treatment in a supportive, recovery-focused environment. As a Residential Support Professional, you'll play an important role in helping residents build healthy routines, develop life skills, and work toward lasting sobriety.

What You'll Do

As an Adult Residential Support Professional, you will provide direct care and support to residents while helping maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment. Responsibilities include:




  • Support, monitor, and encourage residents while serving as a positive role model



  • Observe resident behavior and complete accurate documentation and required reports



  • Assist with medication monitoring and administration according to program policies



  • Support residents in achieving treatment goals and developing independent living skills



  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, crises, and challenging situations



  • Assist with housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, grocery shopping, and maintaining a clean living environment



  • Transport residents to appointments, recovery meetings, and community activities



  • Collect urine specimens and administer breathalyzer tests as required



  • Lead educational or recovery-focused groups following program guidelines



  • Maintain confidentiality while communicating appropriate client updates with treatment providers and community partners



  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other program activities



  • Provide basic first aid when needed



  • Perform other duties that support resident care and program operations

Qualifications
Education


  • High school diploma or GED required



  • College coursework in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field is preferred and may be required depending on program requirements




Experience


  • Previous experience working in behavioral health, addiction recovery, human services, or a related field is preferred




Skills


  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills



  • Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries



  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team



  • Flexibility, patience, and sound judgment in a residential treatment setting




Licenses & Certifications


  • Valid driver's license preferred



  • Must meet LSS driving requirements, including a satisfactory motor vehicle record



  • DHS 83 certifications (Fire Safety, First Aid, Choking Procedures, Standard Precautions, and Medication Administration) preferred and required after hire if not already obtained




Additional Requirements


  • Basic computer skills for documentation, email, electronic health records, and online training



  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, climb stairs, and perform other physical tasks throughout the shift



  • Ability to work in a residential setting and outdoors as needed



  • Local travel may be required to transport residents and support program needs
