The Information Systems (IS) analyst plays a crucial role in shaping how School of Dentistry (SoD) faculty, staff, and learners experience technology across its clinical, education, and research mission. The IS Analyst utilizes a broad understanding of IT to administer systems, support users, implement systems, and continuously improve operations. The IS analyst collaborates with stakeholders across UCSF and external vendors to implement and maintain solutions. Ideal candidates will combine technical knowledge with analytical problem-solving, project coordination skills, and a strong customer-focused mindset.

We provide comprehensive oral health care services with over 120,000 patient visits per year. We offer a four-year DDS program as well as a two-year program for international dentists that culminates in the DDS degree. We have numerous specialty residencies, PhD and Master's degree programs in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences, a combined DDS-PhD program, and a combined PhD-dental specialty training program. Other graduate programs include Craniofacial and Mesenchymal Biology and Bioengineering, and a DDS/MBA program. The School is one of the preeminent oral and craniofacial research enterprises in the world, ranking number one in National Institute of Health funding for 26 consecutive years.

UCSF Dental Center

UCSF Dental Center is a cohesive entity within the structure of UCSF's School of Dentistry that oversees and operates all clinical activities in the dental school. Its primary goal is to provide outstanding, seamless, cutting-edge patient-centered care. The Dental Center also aims to provide state of the art clinical experiences and education to students; deliver cost-effective dental health care; and generate resources for reinvestment in the School of Dentistry's educational, clinical and scholarship missions. UCSF Dental Center's primary services include all advanced dental specialty programs, and the general dentistry and specialty faculty practices. A majority of the Dental Center's clinical facilities are located at the Parnassus Campus, with an additional presence at Mission Bay and the Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center.

Manages systems and services for a facility of moderate size comprising multiple, integrated systems. Makes recommendations for purchase or upgrade of new computer hardware, software and services. Performs moderately complex analysis to acquire, install, modify and support operating systems, software, databases, utilities and / or tools. Applies and manages complex security configurations.

Administers applications, integrations, and infrastructure in advancing School of Dentistry mission across clinical, education, and administrative systems.

  • Administers and manages dentistry specific servers, clients, IOT devices, SaaS platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with established regulatory and UCSF frameworks to ensure data security, and maintain legal and policy compliance
  • Administer access to sensitive resources in concordance with established policies and practices
  • Initiate and analyze UCSF security risks for any new systems or business relationships involving P3/P4 data.
  • Evaluate and keep abreast of new software applications and hardware in advancing Dentistry's mission

  • Provide onsite support to faculty, staff, and learners throughout Dentistry's multiple locations.
