What You Will Do Ship security and network features that run in complex production environments at global scale Build the test harnesses, simulators and lab tooling that make changes to the plugins safe Modernize legacy components, upgrade dependencies and platforms, and harden security, without breaking customer behavior Bring agentic development practices into this team, building on what other Forescout teams already do, and help set the standards for reviewing and testing AI-generated changes Help define the networking and authentication roadmap with senior technical leaders and product management Work with QA, support, documentation and field teams to ship and troubleshoot customer-facing releases Learn new protocols and vendor systems quickly, and explain them clearly to others What You Bring To Forescout Required 8+ years delivering production software, including some work on large or long-lived codebases you did not write Strong in at least two of Java, Python, C/C++, Perl or JavaScript. We will teach you the Perl you need, and comfort reading unfamiliar languages matters more than prior Perl experience. A habit of building safety nets before changing risky code: characterization tests, test doubles, simulators and CI Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants or agents on real production code, and a clear view of where they help and where they need human review Solid fundamentals in networked systems: TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS and client/server debugging Strong debugging skills, especially when the cause is in a system you cannot fully see (customer environments, third-party devices, vendor APIs) Clear written and verbal communication, and effective work across engineering, QA, product and support Self-directed, with willingness to learn new areas and work across component boundaries Nice To Have (not required) Experience with RADIUS, TACACS+, 802.1X/EAP, LDAP/AD or other AAA protocols Experience with switch, wireless controller or other network device integration (SNMP, CLI, vendor REST APIs) Experience with Linux services, containers (Docker, Compose, Testcontainers) or packet-level tools Experience with Spring Boot, Kafka, Redis or PostgreSQL Experience modernizing legacy systems, upgrading forked or vendored dependencies, or working on security hardening Experience introducing agentic or AI-assisted workflows to a team, such as tooling, review practices or guardrails Bachelor's or master's in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience What Forescout Offers You Competitive compensation and benefits - we cover 85% of employee and dependents' benefits premiums (US only), 401K match, generous PTO policy, and much more Collaborative and innovative environment - make an impact on worldwide security while working on the hottest technology Leadership that supports and encourages professional growth and development Want a glimpse of Life @ Forescout?
