A real need exists across Arizona to bridge the gap between K-12 education and the bioscience and healthcare sector promoting the myriad of potential career opportunities for students, essential skills required for these careers and practical guidance on how to move into these dynamic fields.

The Multimedia Coordinator creates and produces video storytelling for the bioscience and healthcare sector, providing career awareness and relevant classroom learning with professionals, leading to equitable student career awareness outcomes. This role will support 75% of the time to Exploring Pathways to Bioscience and Healthcare Careers (EPBHC) program activities, reportable video projects relating to teacher professional development, classroom viewing, the use of the Educator Pro Connect platform, working with industry professionals, and performance measures monitored for grant program implementation and reporting. The Multimedia Coordinator will dedicate 25% of their time to communication, marketing, and branding efforts for the Office of the Maricopa County School Superintendent.

We Require

  • One year of professional experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or related communication functions
  • Bachelor's degree with major course work in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Public Administration, or related field
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis

Other Requirements

  • Must possess, or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona driver's license.

  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Audition, and After Effects), Final Cut Pro, Storytelling skills, Video Editing, and Video Production.
  • Three to seven years of industry experience in creating videos, producing for TV, film, digital, video, or social media

Job Contributions

  • Produces audio/visual and video production, editing, and broadcasting for the EPBHC grant.
  • Assists with internal and external marketing efforts and overall communications goals for the Office of the Maricopa County School Superintendent.
  • Produces videos and still photography for delivery online to the Maricopa County School Superintendent site, as well as delivery to social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) for the EPBHC grant and MCSS Office.
  • Tells stories using a variety of video and still photography styles, incorporating industry-standard lighting and audio editing techniques.
  • Collaborates with the Ed Connect Team, EPBHC Team, and Marketing Team for web design, graphic arts, animation, scriptwriting, and interactive media, and EPBHC grant implementation.
  • Manages the production process (generating ideas, organizing meetings with content experts, and meeting deadlines) for multimedia projects for the EPBHC grant
  • Supports the production and editing of the Bioscience Weeks on-demand broadcasts.
  • Coordinates with the Creative Team to help promote images and videos.
  • Receives requirements from the Director of Industry and Education Partnerships and the Marketing Team for new videos and modifications of existing videos.
  • Records videos featuring live talent: live- action "talking head"/interview-style recordings.

Working Conditions

  • This position works in both an office and an outside environment
  • Will occasionally film/photograph off-site during non-traditional work hours
