Your Job

Molex is seeking a Toolmaker to support precision manufacturing operations at our Lisle, Illinois facility. This role creates value by building, maintaining, troubleshooting tooling used in low volume proof of concept development in a fast-paced environment. The Toolmaker works closely with Manufacturing Engineers to develop tooling performance.

What You Will Do

  • Build, modify, repair, and maintain precision tooling, dies, molds, jigs, fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues to support rapid development to ensure quality output.
  • Perform tool changeovers, setups, and adjustments as needed to support development.
  • Inspect tooling using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and CAD models.
  • Operate toolroom equipment including lathes, mills, surface grinders, and other precision manual machinery.
  • Collaborate with engineers and operators on tool improvements and root-cause problem solving.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a Tool & Die or Toolmaker apprenticeship OR equivalent hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of precision machining and surface grinding.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience working on tight tolerance details.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and stand for extended periods of time in a manufacturing environment.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • 3+ years of Toolmaker or Tool & Die experience in a production environment.
  • Experience supporting stamping, molding, or high-speed manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with progressive dies, fixtures, and automation-related tooling.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.

For this role, we anticipate paying $38.00-$45.00 per hour. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
