Overview We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Fraud Specialist to join a fast-paced financial services team. This role is responsible for identifying, investigating, and preventing fraudulent activity while protecting members and minimizing financial loss. You'll work closely with internal teams, management, and external authorities to ensure compliance and drive effective fraud prevention strategies. Key Responsibilities * Investigate and resolve suspected fraud activity, minimizing risk and financial loss * Prepare and submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) * Review daily ACH reports and monitor account activity for irregularities * Research fraud alerts and take appropriate action to mitigate loss * Collaborate with internal teams to identify suspicious trends and implement account restrictions * Report fraud cases and partner with authorities to support investigations and recovery * Promote awareness of fraud trends and assist with internal training initiatives * Maintain accurate documentation for investigations and compliance purposes * Support daily workflows, including investigations, alerts, and service requests within SLA timelines * Identify opportunities to improve processes and strengthen fraud prevention efforts Qualifications Required: * Financial services experience (bank teller, branch customer service, call center, etc.) * Strong customer service background * Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.) * High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills Preferred: * Prior experience in fraud, risk, or investigations Work Environment * Currently remote; transitioning to a hybrid model (3 days onsite, including Wednesdays) * Flexible start time between 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM (potential flexibility up to 9:00 AM) * Fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and high-impact work What to Expect * Opportunity to join a growing financial services organization with strong internal mobility * Exposure to fraud investigations, compliance, and risk management tools * Supportive, team-oriented culture with a focus on development and growth Soft Skills * Detail-oriented and organized * Positive, team-first attitude * Ability to think critically and "outside the box" * Strong multitasking and prioritization skills Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vernon Hills, IL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
