About the Role

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our Global Procurement Team and provide operational and day-to-day procurement support for various Business Units throughout our GPS Division. In this role, you will drive continuity of supply and support the implementation of GORE's strategic sourcing strategies for critical suppliers and contract manufacturing operations in close alignment with various supply chain functions. The ideal candidate is a process driven, solution-oriented and hands-on individual.

This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.

Pay and Benefits:

  • $92,000 - $124,000 per year

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development of the category strategy and provide insights on customer needs and supply market information overview of materials or technologies procured from suppliers / contract manufacturers.
  • Execute category strategy and implementation plan, i.e. lead or support implementation of category award decisions / new contracts / new supplier relationships including onboarding of new suppliers /contract manufacturers, validation of raw materials and managing technical transfers.
  • Manage risk of Gore's supply chain to guarantee a continuous supply of raw material, services and/or product technologies and lead supplier/contract manufacturer issues resolution in cooperation with other functions and R&D/NPD project teams.
  • Drive supplier/contract manufacturer compliance to industry requirements such as supporting specification development, audits, and other validation activities necessary in close collaboration with other functions to ensure compliant execution of procurement.
  • Lead the implementation of standardized procurement processes, including but not limited to Supplier Risk Assessment, Contract Coverage, PPV and OTD reporting, own and manage these processes within your plant in alignment with the global GPS procurement processes.
  • Coordinate and execute purchasing activities with suppliers/contract manufacturers, drive and monitor cost and inventory reduction projects and developing continuous improvement plans.
  • Lead and contribute to regional/global projects as required.
  • Monitor supplier/contract manufacturer performance based on agreed KPIs and execute business and performance reviews, escalating with urgency when necessary.
  • Support commercialization of raw materials in alignment with new product development.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, business or a related technical field OR 15 years relevant functional experience in the Procurement field in lieu of education.
  • Minimum of 5 years functional experience in the Procurement field.
  • Experience with supplier relationship management establishing expectations, fairly addressing performance or quality issues, and holding others accountable.
  • Proficient in SAP, specifically in procurement functions.
  • Proven contract negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively work cross functionally.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage ambiguity.
  • Ability to travel locally up to 10%.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore's work arrangement policies.
