Job Title: Associate Business Analyst

Location(s): Richmond, VA

Job Summary:
Seeking an Associate Business Analyst to support the Business Analytics and Testing Support Team. The role involves documenting business needs, analyzing processes, supporting software development initiatives, and assisting with testing activities. The position supports both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies while ensuring business requirements are effectively communicated to technical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather and document business requirements through collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams.
• Analyze customer processes, identify pain points, and support process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with root cause analysis of system issues.
• Create and maintain process flows, context diagrams, and data-flow diagrams.
• Document requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Support Agile backlog refinement and user story management.
• Map business requirements and user stories to technical designs.
• Identify dependencies, priorities, and related requirements.
• Participate in test planning, test case creation, and test execution.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and stakeholder communication.
• Assist with process automation and workflow improvements using Power Apps and Power Automate.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Public Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 0-2 years of experience in business analysis, project support, data analysis, or related areas.
• Experience with business analysis, project support, and/or Power Apps/Power Automate.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies.
• Understanding of data analysis and data management concepts.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Required Skills:

• Business Analysis, Project Support, and/or Power Apps/Power Automate: 2+ years

Highly Desired:

• Experience working with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), including familiarity with its policies, procedures, and systems: 2+ years

Work Arrangement:

• Onsite (up to 5 days per week based on business needs).

Important Requirements:

• Candidates must be local to Richmond, VA.
• Previous experience with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is required.
• Must reside within the United States for the duration of the assignment.
