What you'll be doing...

Verizon is looking for an attorney to join the Compliance legal team. We are looking for a skilled lawyer with excellent judgment and people skills who is interested in taking on a wide variety of projects and working at a fast pace, both independently and as a collegial team member.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting compliance investigations, including witness interviews, reviewing and analyzing documents, drafting investigative reports, and presenting investigative findings.

  • Providing legal and risk guidance to the Verizon Investigations team on relevant investigative matters.

  • Working with Enterprise Risk Management, Security, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Risk Management & Compliance, Operational Assurance, Legal Department teams, and other internal partners within Verizon on a variety of investigative and compliance matters, including providing legal advice and guidance.

  • Drafting compliance communications.

  • Assisting business teams in addressing compliance matters by helping design and implement risk mitigation initiatives.

  • Reviewing and implementing compliance controls and corporate policies.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • J.D. or LLM degree and six or more years of experience.

  • Bar membership in good standing in at least one state.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and conducting investigations across a broad array of subject matters and jurisdictions.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Initiative to develop, lead and implement projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of business clients including senior leaders.

  • Experience working in a team environment.

  • Experience working in an in-house Legal department investigations role leading complex internal investigations.

  • Proven oral, presentation and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Outstanding attention to detail, and ability to multi-task and perform effectively under tight deadlines.

Where you'll be workingIn this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $146,000.00 - $280,000.00.
