Position Summary

Moog is seeking a highly experienced Senior Test Equipment Project Engineer to lead global test equipment strategy, sustainment, and performance improvement initiatives across Moog's aerospace operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, capability, and lifecycle management of test equipment supporting Original Equipment (OE), Aftermarket, and Aircraft Control Components (ACC) business units.

The position will interface across engineering, operations, supply chain, and global sites, driving strategic initiatives to improve test equipment availability, performance, and long-term sustainability while supporting Moog-owned equipment both internally and at supplier locations.

As a Senior Test Equipment Project Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Global Test Equipment Strategy & Lifecycle Management

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve test equipment replacement and upgrade strategies for OE and Aftermarket business units.

  • Establish long-term technology roadmaps to address obsolescence, maintainability, and evolving product requirements.

  • Define standards, governance, and best practices for test equipment across global Moog sites.

Aftermarket & Customer Support Strategy

  • Generate and execute a comprehensive Aftermarket Partnerships / Customer R&O / Supply Chain OEM Test Equipment Support Strategy and Execution Plan.

  • Collaborate with customers, repair & overhaul facilities, and supply chain partners to ensure alignment on test equipment capability and support.

  • Drive improvements in aftermarket responsiveness, availability, and lifecycle support.

Test Equipment Reliability & Performance Improvement

  • Partner with site sustainment and operations teams to analyze and Pareto test equipment issues across global sites.

  • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability, uptime, utilization and throughput.

  • Work with Test Equipment design & sustainment teams to implement design improvements and upgrades to existing equipment.

  • Define and track key performance metrics (e.g., MTBF, MTTR, uptime) and develop improvement plans.

Supplier Test Equipment Support

  • Provide technical oversight and support for Moog-owned test equipment located at supplier facilities.

  • Ensure suppliers meet Moog standards for maintenance, calibration, and operational readiness.

  • Collaborate with supply chain and supplier quality teams to address performance gaps.

Program & Project Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional projects related to test equipment upgrades, deployments, and modernization.

  • Manage scope, schedule, cost, and risk for global initiatives.

  • Support generation of capital requests for new Test Equipment.

  • Drive alignment across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain organizations.

To be considered for the Senior Test Equipment Project Engineer, here's what you'll typically bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or related discipline).

  • Significant experience in test equipment engineering, design, sustainment, or support within aerospace or a regulated industry.

  • Demonstrated experience in project engineering or technical program leadership.

  • Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, automated test systems, flight control electronics and data acquisition.

  • Experience working across multiple sites or in a global environment.

  • Willingness/ability to travel to Moog and aftermarket sites globally, up to 25% of time.

  • Willingness/ability to work across multiple time zones.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or related field.

  • Experience with hydraulic/flight control test equipment systems.

  • Experience with Electronics Flight Controls test equipment systems.

  • Knowledge of obsolescence management and lifecycle planning.

  • Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma or reliability engineering methodologies.

  • Experience supporting repair & overhaul (R&O) operations and aftermarket environments.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $105,000.00-$145,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
