Summary The Clinical Informatics Analyst serves as a key liaison between clinical operations and information technology, leveraging clinical knowledge and technical expertise to optimize electronic health record (EHR) systems and related healthcare applications. This role partners with clinicians, operational leaders, and IT teams to evaluate workflows, resolve system issues, and implement technology solutions that improve efficiency, regulatory compliance, and patient outcomes. The Clinical Informatics Analyst is responsible for system configuration and optimization, data analysis and reporting, interface development (e.g., HL7), and end-user training. This role supports ongoing digital health initiatives and ensures reliable system performance across clinical environments. Essential Job Responsibilities * Administers, supports, and optimizes clinical information systems, including EHRs, scheduling platforms, and ancillary applications. * Collaborates with clinicians, operational stakeholders, and IT teams to assess workflows and implement technology solutions that enhance patient care and operational efficiency. * Configures and maintains system components, including scheduling templates, clinical content, data dictionaries, and application settings. * Ensures data integrity, accuracy, and security in compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and organizational standards. * Troubleshoots system issues and coordinate resolution with internal IT teams, vendors, and external partners. * Develops and executes test plans for system updates, upgrades, and enhancements to ensure stability and functionality. * Builds, monitors, and maintains HL7 interfaces and other integrations to support accurate and timely data exchange. * Provides training, education, and ongoing support to clinical and operational users on system functionality and updates. * Participates in cross-functional projects focused on system optimization, new technology implementations, and workflow redesign. * Analyzes clinical and operational data to identify trends, support decision-making, and contribute to reporting and dashboard development. * Serves as a primary point of contact between clinical users, IT teams, and external partners, ensuring effective communication and customer service. * Participates in an on-call rotation to support critical clinical systems outside normal business hours. * Performs other duties as assigned. Essential Job Qualifications Education * Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Nursing, Health Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field (and/or equivalent experience). Knowledge & Experience * Understanding of healthcare delivery, clinical workflows, and operational processes. * Knowledge of EHR systems, healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7), and system integrations. * Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, CMS). * Strong understanding of the intersection between technical systems and clinical operations. Skills & Competencies * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to clinical audiences. * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. * Self-motivated with strong initiative and continuous learning mindset. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
