POSITION DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATION
POSITION TITLE: Buyer DATE: June 2026
FLSA STATUS: Exempt DEPT: Manufacturing

SUMMARY: The Buyer reports to the Director of Manufacturing and are responsible to purchase materials and products for parts manufacturing as well as other items for the Production Division; operates in compliance with company safety practices; and performs other duties as assigned.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Purchase materials and products for parts manufacturing; taking into account cost, quality, delivery schedule and approved vendor when making purchasing decisions.
  2. Purchase fast-track items in expeditious manner.
  3. Obtain quotes from suppliers and negotiate prices to obtain quality products within production budget.
  4. Work with Production Manager to select vendors to purchase materials from who provide quality products within budget. Assist Production Manager is auditing potential vendors to verify they meet our suppler requirements.
  5. Develop new vendor accounts for internal records and processing.
  6. Maintain data in proper Global Shop (GSS) files and reports.
  7. Establish records in Global Shop (GSS) for vendor materials and parts produced.
  8. Document Purchase Order information.
  9. Reconcile vendor invoices.
  10. Prepare sales posting reports.
  11. Manage inventory control of parts purchased and stored in-house including:
  12. Cycle count administration.
  13. Global Shop (GSS) product database.
  14. Return unused inventory to manufacturer and ensure proper credit to Company.
  15. Assist Administrative Manager with warranty process.
  16. Assist in the sales efforts of parts produced. Including invoicing of sold products and ensure parts have required PMA/STC identification prior to shipping.
  17. Assist customers with product purchasing.
  18. Process engine cores including invoicing, return material authorization, and crediting.
  19. File necessary paperwork either via hard copy or computer copy.
  20. Perform functions of job as safely as possible.
  21. Active participant in Company drug and alcohol program.
  22. Perform Parts Clerk functions in his/her absence.
  23. Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
  1. Associates Degree in Business - College Degree preferred.
  2. Working knowledge of various types of Microsoft software and spreadsheets
  3. Team oriented and deadline driven.
  4. Ability to communicate with customers and suppliers regarding needs.
  5. Ability to negotiate and understand profit margins.
  6. Ability to work on own and motivated to perform job and provide a high-end, quality product.
  7. Ability to work to specifications and extremely high attention to detail.
  8. Understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
