Hearth & Home Technologies is looking for aManufacturing Engineer - Cost Improvement, to join our Fireplaces Business Unit in Mt. Pleasant, IA. We are the nation's leading manufacturer and supplier ofhearthproducts, including a wide variety of gas, electric, wood and pellet burning fireplaces, inserts, stoves, and accessories. Headquartered in Lakeville, Minnesota, with distribution around the world, our innovative approach is supported by a business unit structure that allows us to develop and market products with a strong focus on customers' needs.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a visible impact on our manufacturing operations by leading automation, process optimization, and cost improvement initiatives that directly influence business performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead high-impact initiatives that improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality across the facility.
  • Partner with Production, Operations, and New Product Development teams to drive continuous improvement and manufacturability solutions.
  • Evaluate engineering design changes in Creo and SolidWorks, ensuring seamless implementation into production.
  • Optimize product designs, manufacturing processes, and workflows to improve productivity, quality, and scalability.
  • Design and implement mistake-proofing (poka-yoke) solutions that reduce defects and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Identify, develop, and deploy automation solutions that increase throughput, improve ergonomics, and support future growth.
  • Lead cross-functional projects from concept through implementation, delivering measurable operational results.
  • Analyze production data and manufacturing trends to uncover opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 4+ years of manufacturing engineering, process improvement, or continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience with CAD platforms such as Creo, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Project, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Work Environment

  • Primarily in a Manufacturing facility with split focus between an office environment and the production floor with core work hours of Monday through Thursday, 6:00AM - 4:20PM.
