Job Details

The Director, Enterprise Risk Management is responsible for managing and maturing the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program across Cencora business units, driving a consistent, enterprise-wide approach to identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational and strategic risks. This role partners with stakeholders to align risk management with corporate objectives and risk tolerance, while advancing standardized processes, reporting, and tools. The ideal candidate brings strong ERM or other relevant risk management experience in a large, complex environment, along with proven ability to influence, build partnerships, and communicate effectively across internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the development of a program that identifies, evaluates, mitigates, and monitors the company's operational and strategic risk.

  • Partners with stakeholders and peers to assess, quantify, aggregate, and mitigate exposures through the identification of key and emerging risks and ensuring alignment with Corporate strategy and risk appetite / tolerance.

  • Supports enhancement of an ERM program that will provide a common risk language, foster consistency, and identify and cross-pollinate best practices in managing risk across the entire organization.

  • Provides expert level guidance to support build out of the global program which will deliver a common enterprise approach for the governance, development, execution and sustainability of the ERM program.

  • Directs staff and initiatives that support risk management programs, to include risk oversight, risk infrastructure development, identification, quantification, and aggregation of key and emerging risks and/or operational risks and controls.

  • Partners with key stakeholders in the business and provides trusted risk consulting, guidance and assistance to business units to prepare risk self-assessments, including analyzing mitigating controls, identifying gaps, and facilitating the creation of management action plans, as well as required reporting and escalations of significant business risks.

  • Directs teams in the development of risk dashboards and reporting formats in alignment with risk appetite/profile and facilitates teams in the identification, quantification and aggregation of risks using analytical methodologies.

  • Educates risk owners on risk management best practices and works with other risk functions in the development and implementation of risk controls.

  • Contributes to providing a comprehensive set of ERM tools, practices and policies to analyze and report enterprise risks, including the analytical, systems and data management capabilities to support the risk management programs, consolidating and integrating ERM tools and functions, and implementing a set of risk metrics and reports that include key risk exposures and early warning indicators.

  • Responsible for all associate relations functions for department staff including hiring, terminating, performance management, development and training.

  • In alignment with the Company's growth and direction, provides input into financial direction in order to manage the development of budgets, controls and measurements to monitor progress.

  • Makes recommendations for succession planning.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience

  • Requires broad training in related field through completion of a four-year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's degree preferred Requires a minimum of eight (8) years directly related and progressively responsible leadership experience in the field of Enterprise Risk Management.

  • Minimum of CRMP, CBCP, CRM or equivalent certification or equivalent required.

  • Experience designing overall ERM strategy to include the design of Risk Governance Framework, risk aggregation activities, reporting on the risk profile, and execution of risk assessments within a cross functional and multi-national corporation (Fortune 500)

  • Experience working in a highly complex and time-sensitive supply chain logistics, warehouse and distribution management and / or healthcare environment is desired.

  • Experience developing and integrating risk management activities with 3rd parties desired.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Hands-on ERM program execution experience in a large, distributed corporate environment

  • Excellent consultative skills and ability to effectively facilitate groups to consensus; ability to create trust and confidence quickly

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business executives.

  • Well versed in managing projects and getting things done in a matrix environment

  • Understanding of technology directions, trends and strategic business impact on key client initiatives

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques in a highly-complex environment using leading-edge technology

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to communicate with customers, associates and management; solid teamwork and interpersonal skills

  • Strong presentation skills; ability to present and discuss strategies and technical information in a manner that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding

  • Ability to build teams, establish credibility, evangelize the program

  • Ability to establish solid relationships with vendors in support of initiatives; ability to negotiate and manage outside vendors against deliverables.

  • Good business planning, analytical, and conceptual skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions

  • Solid project management skills including the ability to effectively deploy resources and manage multiple projects of various diverse scope in a cross-functional environment

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
