Position Summary The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at the University of New Mexico invites applications for a full time, 9-month appointment for one-year appointment at an Open Rank Visiting Lecturer to begin August 10, 2026. The department seeks to hire a generalist in Chemistry. Specifically, the department seeks an individual with a specialization in any area of chemistry with knowledge and experience teaching in at least two of the department's undergraduate degree concentrations: analytical, inorganic, organic, chemical biology, and physical chemistry. Graduate teaching is a possibility, depending on the Visiting Lecturer's areas of specialty and department need. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 1. BA for Lecturer I in Chemistry or related field completed by start date of appointment August 10, 2026 2. MA for Lecturer II in Chemistry or related field completed by start date of appointment August 10, 2026 3. PhD for Lecturer III in Chemistry or related field completed by start date of appointment August 10, 2026 Preferred Qualifications: 1. Strength in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels 2. Ability to mentor diverse students at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels 3. Ability to contribute to other core areas in the department 4.
