Position Summary

The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the sourcing, procurement, and supplier management activities required to support organizational operations. This role supports both direct and indirect procurement functions, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services while driving cost savings, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive procurement experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex sourcing initiatives with minimal supervision.


Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing


  • Source and procure goods and services required to support business operations.



  • Manage procurement activities for both direct and indirect spend categories.




Examples include:




  • Office supplies



  • Computer hardware and software



  • Travel and business services



  • Maintenance and repair services



  • Equipment and machine parts



  • Raw materials



  • Manufacturing, production, and construction-related services




Supplier Management


  • Identify, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers.



  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.



  • Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.



  • Conduct supplier reviews and implement corrective actions when necessary.




Negotiation & Contract Management


  • Lead pricing, contract, and commercial negotiations with suppliers.



  • Secure favorable terms, pricing, and service agreements.



  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.



  • Support contract administration and supplier compliance activities.




Project & Process Leadership


  • Manage procurement projects and strategic sourcing initiatives.



  • Work independently with limited supervision while managing multiple priorities.



  • Support process improvement efforts to increase procurement efficiency and effectiveness.



  • Analyze procurement data and market trends to support business decisions.




Team Support & Mentorship


  • Provide guidance and support to junior procurement team members.



  • Review work and share best practices to support team development.



  • Assist with training and onboarding activities as needed.




Qualifications
Required Experience


  • Typically requires 5+ years of relevant procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain experience.



  • Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating commercial agreements.



  • Experience supporting direct and/or indirect procurement activities.




Preferred Skills


  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.



  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.



  • Ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities.



  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.



  • Proficiency with procurement systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.



  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound business judgment.
