Training Process Support Specialist Plymouth, MN Pay: $43.00 per hour Remote Opportunity | Local Candidates Preferred for Hybrid Schedule (2 Days Onsite Per Week) Minimum 18-Month Contract with Conversion Potential Job Summary The Training Process Support Specialist is responsible for delivering technical training and customer enablement support for specialized power systems planning and infrastructure software. This role focuses on training customers on highly technical utility and power engineering applications used for electrical infrastructure planning, system planning, and analysis. The position requires the ability to translate complex engineering and utility concepts into effective, user-friendly instruction through both virtual and in-person training environments. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in utility operations, power systems, electrical engineering, or a related technical field and demonstrates a solid understanding of fundamental power engineering concepts and terminology. This role focuses on software training and delivery rather than software development. Job Responsibilities
- Deliver virtual and in-person technical training sessions for specialized power system planning and analysis software.
- Facilitate customer learning through instructor-led training, demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and real-world application scenarios.
- Support training activities related to power systems planning software, including CYME and related infrastructure planning tools.
- Explain complex utility, electrical, and power engineering concepts in a clear and effective instructional format.
- Train customers on software functionality, workflows, system planning methodologies, and operational best practices.
- Assess participant understanding and adapt instructional methods to accommodate varying technical skill levels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure training content aligns with current software functionality and customer requirements.
- Maintain training readiness by managing datasets, lab environments, and software configurations.
- Gather learner feedback and recommend improvements to training delivery, materials, and overall learning effectiveness.
- Support the development of blended learning content, virtual instruction materials, and self-paced training resources.
- Stay current on utility industry terminology, power systems concepts, infrastructure planning practices, and software enhancements.
- Track and report training activities, attendance, and training outcomes.
- Support customer adoption and operational understanding of power systems planning and infrastructure software solutions.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Engineering degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in technical training, customer enablement, utility operations, power systems, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of power engineering and utility industry concepts required.
- Demonstrated understanding of utility and power engineering terminology, including kWh, kW, transmission, generation, distribution, load flow, and related concepts.
- Background in utility, power systems, electrical engineering, electrical technology, or a closely related technical discipline preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn and effectively train others on highly technical software applications.
- Experience delivering technical training, customer-facing instruction, onboarding, or software education programs preferred.
- Strong verbal communication, facilitation, presentation, and instructional skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with power systems planning, electrical infrastructure planning, or utility system planning concepts preferred.
- Familiarity with CYME software is preferred but not required.
- Experience with software training and delivery is required; software development experience is not required.
- Candidates must demonstrate sufficient technical depth and understanding of core utility and power engineering principles to effectively deliver technical training.
Work Experience
- Experience within utility, power systems, electrical engineering, electrical technology, or related technical environments preferred.
- Experience supporting technical software training, customer enablement, or technical onboarding initiatives preferred.
- Experience with utility infrastructure planning, system planning, grid operations, or related power engineering functions preferred.
- Experience facilitating both virtual and in-person technical training sessions preferred.
