Talent Acquisition and Employment within NC State University Human Resources is comprised of a team of Talent Acquisition Consultants and Recruiters, International Employment, University Temporary Services (NC State and
UNC-Chapel Hill offices), and Executive Search Services. Collectively, we are responsible for ensuring that NC State is able to effectively recruit, hire, and employ an effective workforce to support the advancement of NC State University's mission, vision, goals, and strategic initiatives.
The Talent Acquisition and Employment team is responsible for administering, overseeing, and managing effective recruitment and employment programs for faculty, staff, and temporary employees. We provide services and consultation to campus & community customers involved in the recruitment & selection processes, affecting approximately 10,000 staff and faculty roles; provide technical & strategic/targeted recruitment for vacancies in order to attract, retain, and develop a work force that will effectively carry out the University's mission; recruit for approximately 1,500 vacancies annually; ensure compliance with University, State, and Federal regulations; and promote the University as an employer of choice. |

This is an internal posting for current NC State permanent and temporary employees.
NC State University is seeking a Talent Acquisition Consultant to serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers, HR professionals, and university leaders across campus. In this role, you will partner with departments to develop and execute recruitment strategies that attract top talent, enhance the candidate experience, and support the university's mission of education, research, and service.
This position is ideal for a recruitment professional who enjoys building relationships, solving complex hiring challenges, leveraging data and technology to drive decision-making, and exploring innovative approaches-including AI-enabled solutions-to enhance recruitment outcomes and hiring effectiveness.
What You'll Do
- Partner with hiring managers and HR professionals to develop effective recruitment and hiring strategies.
- Lead recruitment efforts for faculty, staff, and temporary positions, including sourcing, outreach, candidate assessment, and selection support.
- Serve as a trusted consultant on recruitment best practices, employment regulations, and university hiring processes.
- Build talent pipelines and leverage modern recruiting tools, data analytics, and emerging technologies to enhance recruitment outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to improve sourcing strategies, candidate engagement, and process efficiency through the use of data, technology, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Analyze recruitment metrics and trends to support data-informed recommendations and continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with HR partners, campus stakeholders, University Temporary Services, and Executive Search Services to deliver integrated talent solutions.
- Develop training, resources, and guidance that support consistent and effective hiring practices across the university.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
Bachelor's degree and two years of progressively responsible professional human resources management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions. |

- Strong understanding of modern recruitment, talent acquisition, and employment practices.
- Strong relationship-building and consultative skills with the ability to effectively influence and advise leaders, hiring managers, and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to leverage data, recruitment analytics, and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to inform hiring strategies and improve recruitment outcomes.

- Experience recruiting active and passive candidates across a variety of occupational areas and talent markets.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing creative and innovative sourcing and recruitment strategies.
- Experience leveraging data, recruitment analytics, and AI-enabled tools to enhance hiring outcomes and recruitment effectiveness.
- Familiarity with higher education, public sector, or State/UNC System employment policies, practices, and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with organizational leaders to develop innovative solutions for complex recruitment and workforce challenges.
