Essential Job Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to clean and perform routine housekeeping duties at the Vernon James Center.

Key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Clean and sanitize designated areas according to established schedules and safety protocols to ensure a hygienic environment
  • Operate and maintain housekeeping equipment, including vacuums, mops, and scrubbers, to complete tasks
  • Perform window washing and other seasonal cleaning tasks as needed
  • Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and request replenishment when needed.
  • Assist with setting up designated spaces for meetings or events
  • Perform minor maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs and performing paint touch-ups; promptly report damages or major maintenance needs.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, remaining professional and respectful.
  • Lift a minimum of 60 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations.


This position requires a high degree of flexibility to respond to and coordinate with the needs of the faculty, staff, and public. Communication with the team and supervisor is critical for success.
This position is located in Plymouth, NC

Qualifications




Minimum Experience/Education
Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Special certification may be required for some of these positions.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing housekeeping duties in a commercial environment.
  • Experience using standard housekeeping equipment, such as vacuums and buffers, to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, walking, bending, twisting, pulling and pushing.
  • Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Special certification may be required for some of these positions.

Required License or Certification

  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • NC Driver's License within 60 days of hire, must be maintained throughout employment.
