Education/Experience: High school diploma required; coursework or professional experience in Horticulture, Forestry, or Landscape Architecture is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Tree Establishment & Health: Perform routine watering, mulching, and structural pruning of young trees. Monitor for signs of pests, disease, or environmental stress.
GIS Mapping & Data Entry: Use mobile
GIS tools to locate, identify, and update the status of newly planted trees in the university's inventory database.
Soil & Site Care: Manage weed competition around tree bases and apply soil amendments or compost as directed by the University Arborist.
Horticultural Support: Assist the broader horticulture crew with seasonal tasks, including perennial bed maintenance, planting projects, and debris removal.
Safety & Equipment: Safely operate utility vehicles (UTVs), water tanks, and hand tools (pruners, hand saws, etc.). |

Technical Skills: Ability to use a smartphone or tablet for

Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, walk long distances across campus, and lift up to 40 lbs.
Driving: Must possess a valid NC Driver's License. |
