Job Summary

The Distribution Associate is responsible for supporting warehouse operations through the accurate receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials, supplies, equipment, and finished goods. This role performs both manual and clerical warehouse functions, including inventory verification, material handling, documentation, and forklift operation. The ideal candidate has experience operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting customer deliveries, and ensuring smooth warehouse operations.

Job Responsibilities



  • Receive incoming materials, supplies, equipment, and finished goods.
  • Verify shipments against receiving documentation and inspect materials for accuracy and condition.
  • Gather, verify, package, and prepare materials for shipment according to customer and transportation requirements.
  • Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, hydraulic lifts, and other material handling equipment.
  • Transport materials to designated stock, staging, inspection, or shipping areas.
  • Process shipping and receiving transactions using warehouse systems and documentation procedures.
  • Complete written and computerized records related to inventory, shipping, and receiving activities.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through proper material handling and documentation.
  • Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and stock organization activities.
  • Ensure warehouse areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow established warehouse procedures, safety requirements, and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel, supervisors, and internal customers.
  • Support additional warehouse and logistics functions as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or material handling experience required.
  • Experience operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts required.
  • Two to three years of forklift experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred; training and certification may be provided.
  • Experience operating pallet jacks, hydraulic lifts, and other warehouse equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
  • Ability to complete written and computerized documentation accurately.
  • Basic reading, writing, math, and computer skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical warehouse activities throughout the workday.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record may be required.


Education



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.


Work Experience



  • Minimum of 1 year of warehouse, shipping, receiving, logistics, or material handling experience required.
  • Experience operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts required.
  • Two to three years of forklift experience preferred.
  • Experience with inventory control, material movement, and warehouse documentation preferred.
  • Experience working in high-volume warehouse or distribution environments preferred.
