What You'll Do:

* Champion Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Perform duties safely, responsibly, and proficiently.
* Collaborate. Provide assistance for all plant administrative activities across the area of responsibility. This includes maintaining detailed documentation of plant administrator procedures specific for each location, participating in the development and implementation of best practices, and ensuring locations comply with internal control policies.
* Prepare and Operate Scales. Prepare scales for daily use and work with Plant Admin Support Supervisors to troubleshoot and repair issues. Weigh customer trucks, generate correct tickets, and ensure the smooth flow of traffic across the scales. Weigh and record incoming materials
such as gasoline, diesel fuel, explosives, and scrap sales.
* Coordinate Customer Orders. Assist in the coordination of truck dispatch orders to ensure maximum efficiency. Verify tickets are numbered and dated, and ensure customer trucks leave the yard properly loaded with accurate timing.
* Provide Excellent Customer Service. Greet customers in a professional and polite manner. Communicate clearly to bill transactions correctly, listen to customer issues or complaints, and work to resolve them through the sales/dispatch department. Direct customers to piles and instruct
load-out personnel on customer needs.
* Maintain Cash Fund. Maintain the cash fund accurately and report any discrepancies. Handle cash sales by collecting cash, checks, or credit card transactions.
* Perform Daily Plant Duties. Perform administrative duties as required by the plant manager or region accounting, such as purchase orders, payables, fuel usage, bank deposits, and tracking costs.
* Prepare Monthly Financial Information. Prepare month-end closing information for Accounting. Prepare detailed analyses of monthly margin and cost statements and reconcile time cards for all plant personnel to ensure correct payment.
* General Office Management. Maintain the office in a neat and professional manner. Answer phones, receive guests, and manage inventory levels for all plant and office materials. Prepare correspondence, reports, and manuals, and work with Human Resources and Safety departments
to handle personnel or environmental issues.
* Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

* Education. Must have your high school diploma or its equivalent.

* Experience. A minimum of one year in bookkeeping, accounting, or office-related experience is required. A minimum of two years of experience in a customer service role is preferred. Experience in aggregates, construction, or an industrial environment is also preferred.

* Knowledge of Accounting Principles. Must possess a fundamental understanding of accounting principles and have knowledge of common office practices, procedures, and use of office equipment.

* Communication Skills. Must have outstanding written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact well with people at all levels of the organization.

* Technology Skills. Must be able to use computers, cell phones, and other electronic devices. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Google Suite/Drive, Oracle Business Environment, and other relevant software.

* Time Management and Detail. Must have organizational skills with a focus on prioritizing workload. Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, dependable, and reliable.

* Integrity. Must act with unyielding integrity and honesty in business transactions, promote company policies, and hold self and others accountable.

* Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to loud noises.

Hourly Range: the hourly range for this role is between $21.35 - $27.09. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate's compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
