Overview

The Program Finance department serves as a critical business partner by providing analysis, insight, and guidance to enable strategic program decisions and achieving bottom-line results.

This Financial Analyst position, located at the Groton Shipyard Facility, supports the VIRGINIA Construction Program Finance team.

Responsibilities include:

    Performance measurement and variance analysis; including Cost Account Plans
  • Communication with Cost Account Managers and department Directors
  • Budget development and maintenance
  • Estimate at Complete review
  • Create and update daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
  • Manpower Plan and Operating Plan development
  • Input to Finance Systems for Indicated Profit, Sales Orders and Backlog
  • Bi-weekly construction progressing
  • Preparation of billing instructions for submittal to Cash Management
  • Preparation of cost reports to support both internal and external customers
  • Shop Order control


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics, Economics, or Statistics/Analysis

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Prior Electric Boat experience/internship
  • Earned Value Management experience
  • Experience in Government contract cost control
  • Experience with EB Systems (Mainframe, MRPII, Purchasing and Inventory, Oracle)
  • Experience reporting and analyzing financial data
  • Experience with Power BI


Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas) and PowerPoint
  • Must be interested in and capable of analyzing large sets of data with minimal supervision
  • Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
