Summary

A leading global entertainment and technology company is seeking an experienced Owned Social Strategist to help shape and execute organic social marketing initiatives focused on podcast content and culture. This role will lead social-first storytelling across owned and operated channels while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, agencies, creators, and external partners.

The ideal candidate is deeply immersed in social media trends and culture, thrives in fast-paced collaborative environments, and understands how to build engaging campaigns that connect with audiences across evolving platforms.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop social-first concepts, campaigns, and programming initiatives for podcast-focused social channels
  • Lead social strategy briefings for campaigns, content formats, and major initiatives
  • Partner cross-functionally to plan and execute integrated social campaigns and projects
  • Drive awareness and audience engagement around video podcast content
  • Advocate for social media best practices across internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Provide thought leadership around emerging social trends, platform behaviors, and innovative storytelling opportunities
  • Support hands-on programming and publishing across owned social channels as needed
  • Manage relationships with agencies, vendors, creators, and external partners
  • Participate in occasional evening and weekend support during key campaigns or launches

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in digital and social media marketing
  • 3+ years of experience managing agencies and external vendors
  • Experience collaborating directly with creators, artists, talent, or external partners on social campaigns
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage audience insights, social listening, performance metrics, and platform trends to inform strategy
  • Experience working in complex, fast-moving environments with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent storytelling, presentation, and communication skills
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities with experience managing multiple campaigns simultaneously
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt quickly
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and negotiation skills
  • Experience supporting high-profile campaigns or talent-driven initiatives

  • Innovative and forward-thinking mindset with a passion for emerging trends and social storytelling
  • Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to streamline social workflows and creative processes
  • Strong understanding of podcast, entertainment, music, sports, fashion, technology, and pop culture trends
  • Deep familiarity with evolving social platforms, audience behaviors, and media landscapes
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach with a focus on shared success
  • Professional, adaptable, and capable of maintaining strong boundaries in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to influence and gain buy-in across cross-functional teams and leadership stakeholders

Additional Details

  • Hybrid schedule based in Culver City, California
  • 12-month contract assignment
  • Compensation: $70/hour
