U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated facility management services firm, is seeking a Building Engineer to support the operations in Culver City, CA.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: With minimal supervision, performs maintenance and repairs applying knowledge of tradecraft skills in the area(s) of specialization. Maintains mechanical and electrical systems and equipment that supply the commercial buildings with heat, power, ventilation, air conditioning, and/or refrigeration, and other environmental systems.
Duties/Key qualifications:
- 3-5 years of facilities experience in a fast-paced corporate environment.
- Exceptional customer service and professionalism with the ability to provide white-glove service while operating discreetly in a high-profile corporate environment.
- 3-5 years of daily vendor management experience, including:
- Communicating with Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbers trade vendors
- Defining scopes of work
- Reviewing proposals
- Scheduling work
- Managing deadlines
- Proven ability to support multiple business units across several commercial buildings.
- Hands-on experience with:
- iOS platforms
- Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Deep technical expertise in electrical and mechanical systems within a large Central Plant or campus environment, including:
- Transformers
- Generators
- Switchgear
- UPS systems
- ATS & ASTS units
- PDU/RPP units
- AHUs
- VRF systems
- CRAC/CRAH units
- Familiarity with critical building systems, including generators, elevators, lighting controls, and Fire & Life Safety (FLS) systems.
- Ability to read and interpret complex schematics, site drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Strong leadership and self-management skills with the ability to work autonomously, learn quickly, and proactively address issues at any time.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively direct contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
- Troubleshoots and repairs electrical (24V-480V) and PLC control systems Troubleshoots hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- 5 + years of experience Industrial Facility Maintenance, Industrial HVAC including building automated/management systems and fire life safety systems.
- Additional Information:

- Requires the ability to climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs as needed during a workday.
- Requires flexibility to bend/stoop, squat, kneel, reach/stretch, and move in a 90-degree fashion during the workday.
- Requires ability to read and understand the information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.
- Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access databases, to send/receive messages, and to prepare documents.
- Requires ability to attend meetings throughout the site and potentially travel to other U.S. Facilities, Inc., customer and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations.
- Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings, and presentations.
- Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full office suite.
- Requires the ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
