Overview

Na Alii is looking for a Payroll Accountant. The Payroll Accountant is a member of the Payroll Operations team within the Finance & Accounting department and reports directly to the Payroll Manager. This role supports payroll operations through labor processing, payroll accounting support, leave administration, and payroll related data integrity activities within Deltek Costpoint, Deltek Time & Expense, and ADP.


The Payroll Accountant plays a key role in supporting accurate payroll processing, labor reconciliation, and payroll compliance by maintaining employee labor records, processing labor and leave adjustments, and assisting with payroll-related reconciliations and reporting. This position partners closely with Payroll, Human Resources, and Accounting teams to support payroll accuracy, labor integrity, and internal controls across multiple companies and states.



Responsibilities

Payroll Operations and Labor Support:

    Support payroll operations by processing and maintaining accurate labor, leave, and payroll-related data within Deltek Costpoint and Deltek Time & Expense
  • Assist in reviewing and validating payroll and labor data to ensure accuracy prior to payroll processing and financial reporting
  • Support payroll cycle activities and payroll processing deadlines assigned by Payroll leadership
  • Process and support:
    • Timesheet corrections and labor adjustments
    • Leave accruals and leave balance corrections
    • Retroactive labor and payroll adjustments
    • PTO payouts and payroll-related calculations
    • Labor uploads and payroll-related data maintenance

Costpoint and Payroll Systems Management:

  • Maintain working knowledge of:
    • Deltek Costpoint
    • Deltek Time & Expense
    • ADP Workforce Now
  • Support payroll-related system activities including:
    • Employee record maintenance
    • Labor and timekeeping updates
    • Timesheet approver hierarchy updates
    • Labor mapping and charge code validation
    • Payroll/labor data troubleshooting
  • Assist employees and managers with timekeeping corrections, payroll-related inquiries, and labor processing support.
  • Support testing, validation, and issue resolution activities related to payroll and labor system updates

Payroll Reconciliation & Compliance Support:

  • Support payroll reconciliations and payroll accounting activities including:
    • Payroll-related account reconciliations
    • Labor reconciliation and validation
    • Leave balance auditing
    • Payroll data audits
    • Payroll reporting support
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, audit requests, and regulatory reporting support
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive payroll and employee information

Team Collaboration & Operational Support:

  • Partner closely with all related teams/team members to support payroll accuracy, labor integrity, employee data maintenance, and payroll processing operations
  • Contribute to cross-training efforts and support operational continuity across the Payroll Operations team
  • Provide responsive and professional customer service to employees and internal stakeholders regarding payroll, labor, and timekeeping matters

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar discipline from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in payroll operations, payroll accounting, labor accounting, or related payroll support functions.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Deltek Costpoint, and Deltek Time & Expense preferred.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and multi-state payroll processing.
  • Experience supporting labor-driven payroll operations in a government contracting environment and familiarity with SCA/DBRA preferred.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and Excel skills.

Work Location:

  • Hybrid work schedule based out of the Arlington, Virginia office.

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $70,000.00 to $90,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
